Arshavin's goal was disallowed but he is an absolute beast. I may have taken my eyes away from the game for a minute or two and missed if Bendtner did anything. Invisible.

2 fluke goals, but I'll take that heading back to Emirates. The atmosphere really died after that 2nd goal.

You definitely should, anytime you score, it shouldn't matter how. The Emirates looked solid, not spectacular and were it not for the first, I don't think the second would have been scored. Celtic died after the first one.

Same here, nothing better than seeing the Gunners win in HD!

Arshavin certainly looks like a difference maker. I can't wait to see the attack once they settle into the new formation and build some familiarity & chemistry. Plus, there's still Walcott, Rosicky & Nasri to add in the mix (if they're ever healthy at the same time) and I wouldn't be surprised to see Wenger buy Chamakh before the end of the window. With Eduardo picking up the niggling injuries and playing 3 forwards, he might want the cover. They had no striker on the bench last night...

As for Bendtner, he didn't generate much offense, but to be fair, no one really did. He did however appear to be hustling & harrying the Celtic backline. I saw him chase down several defenders and put them under pressure, which will eventually pay dividends. If he keeps up his work rate, I don't have a problem with him seeing significant PT. Although I don't think there's any doubt that Eduardo is the purest finisher on the team and needs to play when healthy...

Thomas vermaelle has impressed me and how he settles into the squad perfectly, the vermaelle, gallas, song partnership is impressive, lets just hope we keep them fit for the rest of the season.

It's Vermaelen, and I'm very pleased with him so far. Extremely pleased, actually.

Its hard to have much offense when Celtics midfielders are chopping you down every time you try to make a run.

That was a gritty performance by the Arsenal.

Glad to see Van Persie is still walking without crutches to be honest.

                    Lineups for the Pompey game.

Arsenal: Almunia, Eboue, Gallas, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Diaby, Fabregas, Denilson, Arshavin, Van Persie, Eduardo

Subs: Sagna, Mannone, Ramsey, Song, Clichy, Merida, Bendtner

Portsmouth: James, Wilson, Kaboul, Distin, Belhadj, Utaka, Mokoena, Mullins, Kranjcar, Kanu, Piquione

Subs: Nugent, Begovic, Vanden Borre, Hughes, Basinas, Ward, Ritchie

Seems like the 4-3-3 is going to be the formation for the most part this campaign. Glad to see Eboue and Gibbs getting a run out against a surefire relegation candidate in Pompey. Should be a pretty easy win and one we must get in order to be title contenders.

My prediction is 3-0 with a brace for my Arshavin with Van Persie picking up the other.

Textbook Arsenal for the Diaby goal.

                      1-0 Arsenal.

Edit- Diaby now with two goals in two minutes.

                      2-0 Arsenal.

Pompey gets one back on a Younas Kaboul header.

Gibbs hasn't looked very good today at LB.

Cesc off at the half. Hopefully its just a minor knock.

Gallas with his third goal in as many games.

Its going to take some getting used to us being dangerous on set pieces.

Aaron Ramsey slots home his first Arsenal goal from a through ball from RVP. That seals up the 3 points for our Gunners.

                                4-1 Arsenal.
