agreed love AW... but still to my side that we have issues with almunia. diaby made a huge error... , but looking forward if diaby doesnt fall to pieces, should be ok there. but, we have issues at GK. cant give away away goals.

rooney call was the right call... he put his hands out and there is nothing in the rule book that says rooney has to hurdle.

whether it deserved a penalty to me is not the issue... issue is almunia making the decision to come out...

I agree. The decision for Almunia to come out was at best questionable. I'm not sure United even score because Rooney's 1st touch was a little heavy when Almunia came out

Anyhow, time to move on. I thought that despite the loss, we were the better team for long stretches in that game and we finally showed that we won't get intimidated or pushed around like in previous seasons

And we were missing Cesc and still played fairly well. I'm looking forward to the rematch

Who rated this thread 1 star? Lol. Must have been a Spurs or Liverpool fan.

It can't have been JJ, though, because he doesn't like Spurs anymore.

Wenger called it "Old Traffordish" after the game, and I couldn't agree more. Same reason Fletcher was not called for the penalty. I'm sick of ManU being "lucky" in games, or at least having it called luck by the media, when really they're handed things.

Diaby's own goal, ridiculous and sickening.

              just to clarify the law

there is no mention that a striker has to "ride a tackle" which is why we see the rooney and eduardo "dives" the only different in the two was the contact made by Almunia

as to people suggesting that Almunia was at fault for the OG that just nuts

yes he could of taken Diaby and ball out of play however Goalies are taught not to attack the ball if there is no need

there was no pressure on Diaby at that time he just ****ed up
              **** happens move on

the best thing about the game was the way our midfield dominated ManUre's midfield for long portions of the game and that without Fabrigas, compare that to last years games and spot the difference-Dennilson and Song no longer pass to the opposition on a regualr basis and I reckon one more season and Diaby will turn into something very special(providing he isnt broken) add in the fact that we were missing 3 wingers in Nasri Walcott and Roskicky(if you want to count roskicky as an Arsenal player) consider that with one of those 3 fit and Asharvin gets to play in the hole and dictate play, I will now admit he's a great great buy however he's a totally lazy **** and is going to cost us 2-3 goals this season

              cheers

I don't think Arshavin is lazy, but I do think he needs to get in better shape so he won't have to ask to come out of the match like he did.

As for the midfield, I agree they are a lot better. People were saying they would be happy with a draw, and that is what we should have gotten. If Diaby hadn't been stupid, the score would have been even, and that's great for a team without Cesc.

I knew Eduardo was going to get a ban and I think it's silly for Wenger to say anything to defend it. It was a dive pure and simple.

Moving on, Arshavin is actually injured. He has a groin injury and that is why he asked out of the game. It had nothing to do with laziness. He's out for one of the Russia games.

I like our team this year and while there were mistakes made at United, it's just 1 game and based on how we've played, we'll be fine.

I feel sorry for Eduardo. Sure it was a dive but there are so many players around the world that do this ALL the time. I'll admit Steven Gerrard is one, C. Ronaldo, Drogba, etc.

I just don't understand why this incident has been targeted and no other incident ever has? Man, Cristiano Ronaldo would miss practically the whole season if they started handing out 2 match bans each time.

Like I said, I feel sorry for Eduardo, this is going to be with him for the rest of his career now. He'll be watched closely by referees and have the reputation as being a "diver" when he's not.

It's the rules, it's in UEFA's guidelines. It sucks but what can you do? I bet he'll think twice before trying to earn a penalty that way again.

Its also in UEFA guidelines that UEFA cannot override a referees final decision.

I guess you didn't read that one.

Disciplinary action may be taken even if the referee did not see gross
unsportsmanlike conduct and was therefore unable to take any factual decision.

Can't argue with that. When your wrong your wrong.

I still think its bull**** though. I guarantee you if that was Steven Gerrard that did that, we wouldn't hear a peep from UEFA.
