This year Chelsea ran away with the league. Spurs were a not so close second with a few other teams with decent players were behind them. They're not great but they aren't bad.
This is always the issue with fan(atic)s.

They want the coach, player, GM, etc out, but don't offer realistic replacements.

Guilty as charged. I would like him gone, but don't know who would be adequate replacement.

I'm not qualified enough to know who his replacement should be, but I've watched enough of Arsenal with Wenger at the helm to know the issues are systemic and have become worse, not better under him.

He's practically admitted to staying at the club due to his own selfishness, and that if he left, he wouldn't know what to do with himself.

The constant throughout the failures of the last several years have been Arsene Wenger not only leading the team, but basically the club. You don't get to have as much power as he does at a club and not be held responsible when things do not work out.

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***

The onus isn't on me to tell you who Arsenal should bring in. People get paid to do that, and even if I did come up with a shortlist of managers I'd like to see, the first order of business would be to give me every reason why those particular managers would never have their name on a door at the Emirates. Ridiculous precedent to set that I'm required to know who the replacement is. Since we're knocking on the door of dumb arguments, I'd like to take this time to point out once again, I'm very appreciative of everything Wenger's done for the club. He's a massive figure, and in all honesty I'm probably not even this mad at the last 5 years if Wenger doesn't give us the expectations of challenging for a title.

Also - just so we're absolutely 100% clear - no one, absolutely no one is suggesting that simple change of manager will automatically turn Arsenal into a title contender. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the first manager post-Wenger, whether it be at the end of this year will probably end up failing in the same vein that Moyes failed Manchester United. The heart of the issue is the lack of improvement, going back to arguably 2009. We're doing the same thing, year in and year out, we fall short of expectations in the UCL, we inexplicably lose games. We remain far to committed to players that are not of the calibre we should be aspiring for. We do very little to improve the team. The fact that none of this has changed over an extended period of time is absolutely frustrating. We lucked into 2nd place because Spurs are Spurs last year, but we sure didn't spend the season playing like a team that deserved 2nd place.

Furthermore, Wenger does far too much at Arsenal as it is. He's our Training director, Director of Football, Game Day Manager, most clubs have these broken down into 2 or 3 jobs, stretching yourself thin isn't something that anyone should be doing, especially in a business atmosphere like football is. Creating inefficiencies in just one of those three things is something the club shouldn't be risking anymore. We're a big club, we should really start looking at making sure that all parts of the club are running as efficiently as possible.

        tl;dr -
It's not my job to find a replacement.
        Wenger is a Legend
        Wenger is stretching himself thin
The club should probably hire a DoF

Also, just for the sake of arguments, people I'd actually be excited about if they were named Arsenal manager include -

Diego Simeone - current Manager of Atletico Madrid
Thomas Tuchel - current Manager of Borussia Dortmund
Ralph Hasenhuttl - current Manager of RB Leipzig
Max Allegri - current Manager of Juventus
Leonardo Jardim - current Manager of Monaco

There's a few more, but either way, it's still not my responsibility to figure out the solution when there are people who are much better at that sort of thing already around.

Not really mad, just hopefully putting to rest the notion that those in the Wenger out camp, especially me, aren't well aware that things won't automatically turn around. I've made posts similar to this now what feels like a million times(across multiple boards, mind), because people come in with the same ridiculous statements and it's very tiresome.

I'd personally like to see what Steve Bould can do as a caretaker.

I think we'd see a lot better attitudes, honestly. Ian Wright has mentioned before that Martin Keown witnessed Bould being direct with players, including yelling, and Arsene instructed him in front of everyone to not yell at the players.

I'm not saying yelling at the players solves the issues, but one of the best criticisms I've heard from the past few years was that it seems it's very comfortable to be the Arsenal manager, and even more so to be an Arsenal player.

I don't know if Bould is a long-term solution, but I think we'd see a big change in attitude, and possibly even certain players dropped due to their attitude.

When I see players on the pitch dragging ***, making stupid mistakes, and not falling back to defend, I think they need someone to put a foot up their asses. This should be the team captain's job and more importantly the manage should empower other people to do this, especially if he doesn't want to be the one doing so.

Alexis is the 1st Arsenal 20+ goal scorer in league play since....Robin Van Persie in 11/12.

I just finished watching the game about 30 minutes ago. Somehow I was able to avoid seeing the result all day lol.

I was watching and said aloud, 'good grief stop giving the ball away so much!!!' (re: Alexis). Not 2 minutes later he put that brilliant (LEFT FOOT) goal in after that unreal assist from Ozil.

He loses possession--a lot. But what he's able to often create is second to none (few?). Very polarizing.

While it's nice to Mertesacker, it sucks that Gabriel got hurt. Looks like we're set to lose the FA Cup Final as well, no Kos, no Gabriel.

Gonna have to be BFG and Holding.

Can they recall Chambers? Honest question.

Unfortunate. If Chelsea start a few quick boys up top I'm not sure if I can stomach watching that.
