Arteta would be very interesting. I have no doubt he would get tactics right, as from all accounts he has a brilliant football mind.

If I also remember correctly, he speaks just about every language in the dressing room.

He's by far more choice if we go the unproven, bold, former player, and future thinking appointment.

I can not express how much I do not want Ancelotti given what has been said about his time at Bayern. If we had issues in the dressing room, or instability, great. But he'd be more of the same in terms of a lack of training and focus. The squad needs a kick in the ***.

We've been conducted like a jazz ensemble for twenty-two years, and it's time for a change to drum corps, not a slightly different jazz ensemble.

If they’re thinking the bold choice, I’d also say Viera. Imagine having played a poor 1st half to Watford at home and having to deal with Viera and Jens at halftime?

The ultimate Arsenal management team with Viera, Henry, and Arteta.

Though I think the idea is that we get a stopgap of 2-3 years and then go after Viera/Henry/Arteta as the manager. that being said, I could not agree with Kreb more that Ancelotti is not who i want at all

Ancelotti would be a disaster here. Please go manage Italy. That will be great television.

I think the worry if we wait on someone like Arteta or Viera is that the timing could be wrong. If we're going to pull the trigger on Arteta, it might be best to do it now—even though it seems crazy and bold.

As for Viera, if we wait several more years he could even further entrenched in the City Group.

Hector Bellerin has apparently requested the #2 shirt for next year. Apparently he wasn't kidding about wanting to stay, I hope for his sake that whomever the manager is next year helps him develop into the right back he should be.

Or just moves him up to the right midfield.

First step would be making sure he isn't playing RB and RW, and to have an actual presence up front out on the right. Next step would be having him focus on defense first.

He's one of the many players I'm looking forward to seeing develop (as he has tons of that to do) under a new manager.

So if your the new Arsenal manager and get 250 million US to spend, where do you spend it?

                      Asking for a friend.

But really they should first build Wenger a statue and then spend everything else on defense and keeper.

A new long term goalkeeper and 2 new centre Halves would be my guess to start with.

                            In order of priority:
                            1. Goalkeeper (can start immediately, or someone younger who can split time with Cech now)
                            2. Central Defender (first choice, best defender in the side)
                            3. Right Back (actual cover for Bellerin, perhaps a veteran)
                            4. Central Defender (quality cover, experienced but younger defender)
                            5. Central Midfielder (solid defensive/holding mid)

As for the reported "we only have £50m to spend this Summer" reports, everyone should keep in mind that it's net spend, and we'll surely be moving a few salaries off our books, as well as pulling in a few funds from transfers.
