    Whoa!!! Didn’t see this coming.

At least we’ll finally get the midfield destroyer type the club has needed since Viera left.

I shouldn't be surprised, but it's incredible how people were ****ting on the idea of Arteta, and now are ****ting on Emery (not here, but elsewhere). What are people expecting? Who were they thinking we'd bring in?

I love that we're bringing someone in who is very different than Arsene was in terms of tactics, planning, and training. I love that we're bringing someone in who will not be afraid to drop players who should be dropped because there is no loyalty or trust built into the relationship.

Reading some of the twitter reactions are a trip, I don't see how anyone can be that disappointed with Emery as a choice, I enjoy the number of people that are labeling the 3 time Europa League Winner a "serial bottler"

I can see being upset with Arteta, in truth I wanted Arteta because I wanted it to work and thought it would be sweet to basically have another young manager that could be here another 20 years or so. Emery sort of fits that bill as well, so here's hoping!

I love that SkySports asked what WILLIAM ****ING GALLAS THOUGHT ABOUT THE EMERY APPOINTMENT.

jfc. The media are so damned desperate to neg the appointment.

As unfortunate as it is, not sure Lacazette fits into Emery's plans at all. The ideal striker for his system basically is Aubameyang, and unless he planned on trying Aubameyang on the left to accommodate Lacazette in (which could possibly work given his system), I don't see any space for him. I'd imagine we'll play a bit of a 4-2-3-1 but I'm curious as to whether Mesut will play centrally or on the right, because his central player tends to drop very deep. Will be interesting to see how he sets up, to say the least but truthfully I expect Özil to be on the right and Ramsey in that middle slot

It's official, Emery is the new head man at Arsenal.

Haven't been this excited for a season to start in many years. Just have to get this stupid World Cup out of the way first.

The only thing I'm truly disappointed in is that we won't get anymore 'pursed lips' Mikel Arteta photos

I'm excited to see different tactical approaches to different oppositions. None of this "we play our game and the rest will work out" nonsense. No, we need to adapt and prepare for what we're facing.

New manager in a World Cup year is awful, as I wish he had an entire Summer to work with the squad. Still, I'm excited.

Even with Emery coming in as a proven manager, I'm viewing this year as a transition year, as long as we see improvements, and we don't get relegated, I don't much care what happens with the season.

Yeah I don't expect a top 4 finish next season unless Man Utd and Spurs play awful next year. Chelsea should be better next year and push for a top 4 finish but I don't see Man City and Liverpool on decline right now.
