Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
The much loved five at the back returns
Leno
AMN/Mustafi/Sokratis/Monreal/Kola
Guendouzi/Ramsey
Iwobi/Ozil
Laca
Cech/Elneny/Suarez/Jenko/Nketiah/Mkhi/Auba
I really can't wait until I don't have to worry about Mustafi on the backline. I'd love for anyone else to be there, honestly.

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
The U18s played a helluva game today against Tottenham, down 0-2, came back to win 3-2 on the back of Bukayo Saka. He was pretty dangerous from the time he came on in the 59th minute, and he teams up with Balogun so well. I know it's unlikely they all, or even 1/2 of them make it, but our young attacking stable is very dynamic and I love it. Nelson and Smith-Rowe are pretty obvious shouts, but Saka, Nketiah, Balogun, John-Jules, Amaechi and Coyle all have unique talents that I hope we can utilise properly going forward.Support Local Sports

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
I know these comparisons are usually often pointless and bunk, but I do think they can add context, even if it's a shred.
Pep first full season with City and Klopp's with Liverpool was the 16/17 season. After 31 games, City had 61 points and Liverpool had 60. In Emery's first season we've now played 31 games and have 63 points.
Let's take it even further—after the same number of games, City's goal difference was 25 and Liverpool's was 27. Our current goal difference is 26.
So, what's the point of this? I'm not saying Emery is Pep or Klopp, or that we'll win the league or make a serious challenge for it in the next two years. However, we're on track to attempt something, we've made large improvements over last season (we had 51 points after 31 games), and we're exceeding expectations.
I'm happy.Comment

Our results are great, the performance on the field worried me in the first half, but has been much improved in the second half. I think we ARE better than previous years though, we just aren't where I want to be.Support Local Sports

We're not anywhere close where I want to be, but we're much better than I thought we'd be this year. Yes, we could still finish three places lower, but we've made more progress and than I assumed we would.
I truly think we've surpassed any sane person's expectations, and those who only ever offer lazy or uninspired opinions haven't had much to say due to us not being a meme factory.Comment

I think we agree, you're just more focused on the results than I am.Support Local Sports

Not super on-field related, but I hope we get a different sleeve sponsor because I'm very uncomfortable with Visit Rwanda, and we were sold a story that was unsurprisingly untrue.
There's plenty of dirty money to be had, I hope that we can find someone elses.Support Local Sports
