Yeah, it was a great win. Sure, Wigan's "let's just keep backing up until they shoot, maybe it won't go in" defense was horrible, but we also passed well, crossed, well, defended well (outside of the first 8 minutes), and really showed we're not the same team from September.

Hopefully this trend of RVP not being our only goalscorer can continue so we can occasionally give RVP some much needed rest.

      What a shocker.

After this Summer, I have just accepted the fact that we just aren't going to splash the cash on any known young commodity. Hopefully Wenger hits on more of these 16 or 17 year old unknown young players than he misses.

Anybody thinking that Hazzard or Gotze is coming to Arsenal is going to be disappointed. I think we could have really gotten Hazzard if we went in hard after him at the first of the Summer, but Wenger was too busy trying to talk guys that had already made up there mind to leave into staying.

I absolutely love this team we have right now, probably the least talented team we've had since the year after Titi left. But man they play there asses off.

I still rep my Vela jersey whenever possible.

Did we loan him or sell him? I forget.

Not a chance both go. It's one or the other and it's definitely Frimpong. Sending both would be sending out our #2 and #3 DM, so if that is unrealistic.

Its a nice feeling knowing that we are locked into the knockout stages regardless of today's outcome.

Also, Oxade-Chamberlain gets another start today. Looking for a goal from the youngster.

Not surprisingly we give up an early goal due to a Squillaci/Djourou error. Luckily we have those out there who are capable of scoring.

Also, Fabianski just went off. On comes Mannone, who just last month said he wants to move.

Well, this match showed exactly why our defense was so bad last year with Djoullaci getting so many starts. But we were through anyway, and it's nice to let the non-starters see some CL action, especially the youngsters.

It also showed what it was like before Szczney was the starter.

                          Two reserve keepers are terrible.

Fabianski is Fabianski and Mannone has never really had much actual playing time, so I don't fault him much. However, we really do need to sign a veteran who would be more than happy with being a leader in training and in the locker room and play the occasional game.

Andre Santos hurt is ankle yesterday to add to your defensive injury worries. TV5 is being touted as the candidate to play LB against Everton on Saturday.

He'll be excellent there. I'm guessing that that means Djourou in the center with Kos moving inside.
