Don’t hate it. Just hope the boys can stay healthy.

Also, Luiz and Willian aren’t even on the bench.

They don’t even return to training until Thursday at the earliest, I believe, so they could miss Saturday, or at least not start.

I still really like Mari—reminds me of Mertesacker.

Looks like Kola returning to Schalke on loan is nearly done.

As for incoming, CB Omar Rekik is set to arrive from Hertha. This was set for last Summer but couldn’t get done in time, so nothing new. 19-year-old signing for the future.

Kola to Schalke is done. I was pretty excited when he joined as he was one of the best attacking fullbacks in the Bundesliga when he joined and while Monreal was defensively solid, from my perspective he was never very involved in the attack. When it seemed like Arsenal were gonna switch to utilizing wing-backs instead of the more traditional full backs, I was even more excited to see what Kolasinac could do, but he never really turned out like I had hoped. Hope he does well at Schalke though, enough that they stay up, and that they sign him permanently and he can make good on the second half of his career.

He was one of the best, early examples I can think of where we signed a player but seemingly had no idea how we were going to use him.

Didn’t he play mostly as a wingback for Schalke? We brought him in, tried him at fullback and it obviously wasn’t working, and we’ve even had him on the left of a three before.

We’ve since signed far too many players without a plan for utilizing them but in the modern era, he seemed to be the first.

Also, it’s nice to see a player want to leave so they can play instead of sitting on the fringes of the squad happily collecting their check for now.

He played a lot of leftback until his leg injury afterwards he played a bit further up the pitch, but his duties were still more of a leftback than anything. For me it didn't feel like he was a signing without a plan, he was a signing that simply didn't work out because of the manager change. I think that if he had spent 2-3 years under Wenger he would have turned out better for the club, based on what I knew about Emery Kola was always going to be an oddman out as Emery prefers rotational attacking fullbacks, and Kola is very much not that as it requires a lot of defensive prowess, and Kola was very much an on-the-ball-send-in-a-cross left back that could defend as a secondary objective, not a primary objective.

I can’t imagine who this would be directed towards.

But absolutely spot on. If you want to play somewhere, you’ll play.

Carl Jenkinson eventually left though, not sure why we have to keep dunking on him like this.

Now there's the defining Kola summary.

My thoughts for West Brom tomorrow:

                                1. We’re going up against Big Sam and a team which held City and Liverpool to a draw, the bus will be parked.

                                2. Start Lacazette up top tomorrow. He is much more adept to playing with his back to the goal.

                                3. With Kolasinac gone, will we see the return on AMN at LB/LWB? Tierney can’t play every match.
