Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
What Arteta was able to do with this squad is truly fantastic. It shows that he can adjust what he wants to do, and how he wants to play, in order to win, which we've missed for a very, very long time.
But it also makes me excited to see what he can do with a few additions, and more time to get this group of players playing the way he wants to more regularly.
His adaptation to opponents has been wonderful, and it's not surprising, as I believe at City that was one of his main duties—scouting the opposition and helping prepare tactics based on that.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
Can we discuss Torreria?
I used to be so excited to have this sort of player. I thought we FINALLY had the DM we needed.
Yet, under Arteta—nothing?
He seems the perfect fit to be able to sit deep and protect the back 4 and win the ball, but clearly Arteta doesn’t fancy him at all. I would think him sitting in that DM or DLP role would allow for Xhaka, Ceballos, Willock (etc.) to be able to push forward more freely, and give us more creativity that we desperately need.
Any ideas why? What am I missing here?

Also, Arsenal winning directly impacted their Europa League qualification process.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
It seems we’ve linked to Lille CB Gabriel. Apparently he’s left footed so that’s probably why Arteta is interested.
Also, Willian. I don’t mind it because he can play CAM and both wings, so there’s a lot of flexibility there and also he can take pressure off Saka, Martinelli, etc.

So in your mind has Emi started a fight for #1 choice, or is it still clear as day Leno?Support Local Sports

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
For me it's still Leno without a doubt as his shot stopping ability is almost World Class but I will say Emi showed he may be a better distributor than Leno. But I am happy for Emi I feel like he showed he deserves to be starting GK during this stretch.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
To me Leno is still #1 given how long he’s been at the level he’s at.
Emi has been fantastic, but he hasn’t done it long enough for me to think he takes the spot.
I don’t want to lose either, but I think it would be insane to sell Leno, unless it was for crazy money.Comment

RohansBlog has some excellent threads on Twitter.
One of them is comparing Leno to Emi.
The cliffs notes version is they’re both great, but as mentioned above, Leno better shot stopper, Emi better distributor.
If our back 4 is actually solid next season, I’d prefer a distributor over a shot stopper. Obviously this would require a massive upgrade (see: Saliba, Mari, Gabriel?).
Given the current state, financially, if the opportunity to cash in big on Leno is there, I think we have to. I’m not sure what either are valued on the market.
Ideally—sure I’d love to keep them both...

IF this is true (not sure how reliable he is) do you think this will impact transfer business this window?
Apparently I have no idea how to post a tweet to make it show up so just the link is showing for now.Current careers:
