It's hardly ever safe, but...I don't know, it's a different culture in Central America, man. They have no problems beating the **** out of people that piss them off.Too Old To Game Club

3 teams will clinch their spot in the World Cup tomorrow along with Japan and Brazil.
Australia is in if they win at home against Iraq. If Australia draw or lose, then Oman is in with a win over Jordan.
South Korea hosts Iran. South Korea clinches a spot with a draw or win. Iran clinches a spot with a win, also a draw and loss or draw by Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan clinches with a win by 2 goals. If either team wins the South Korea-Iran match, then Uzbekistan clinches with a win.Comment

Re: *The Road to Brazil 2014* WC 2014 Qualifying Discussion
South Korea, Australia, and Iran all punched their ticket. Looks like Uzbekistan needed to win by 6, not 2 with the way the South Korea match went.
Uzbekistan will now play either Oman or Jordan for a chance to play the 5th-placed CONMEBOL team for a spot.
EDIT: Jordan defeated Oman 1-0 to claim 3rd place and the place in the playoff against Uzbekistan.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 06-18-2013, 02:25 PM.Comment

Re: *The Road to Brazil 2014* WC 2014 Qualifying Discussion
Yeah, I goofed on the number of goals. The official World Cup site doesn't have a column for goal differential, so I was looking at goals allowed not differential. Either way, I like Uzbekistan's chances given that Jordan advanced with a losing record. Wouldn't fancy their odds against Uruguay if they end up 5th as they currently are.Comment

Uruguay has made things really hard for themselves. They've been abysmal on the road in qualifying so far, and their two home matches remaining are Argentina and Colombia. At least they have a game in hand on 4th and 6th place as it sits right now.Comment

Bloody hell England! Almost concede a penalty in the first minute. What is up with Joe Hart lately? His form has dipped drastically.Comment

Well, Jordan is through to face the playoff qualifier from South America. All it took was extra time, an hour delay when the lights failed in the 100th minute, and a 9-8 scoreline in penalties!
