Perhaps one of you experts can tell me, when Europe qualifying says the 8 best 2nd place teams, is that strictly by points? or percentage of points possible? Seems a bit of a disadvantage for the group with only 5 teams if it's just on points. That said, France leads Iceland and one other 2nd place, so right now they'd have a good shot at making it into a playoff anyway.Comment

The results of the teams in the groups with 6 teams have their results against the bottom team in the group thrown out. Here you can see that there is a separate 2nd place table at the end that shows the standings taking that into effect.

Oooh, Iceland has scored in the 71st against Cyprus. They're trying to stick in 2nd place. Switzerland is about to clinch their spot from that group.

Yes, the did. Grant Wahl made a Tweet today that made it seem like they clinched today though. I had to look it up myself after I saw it.
Australia are currently getting the ever-loving crap kicked out of them by France.
