Jozy needs to step it up more than once in a blue moon and prove his club success can carry over to the national stage. A striker makes opportunities for himself, not always about getting him the ball in great areas. Until then, I for one will keep "killing" him.

That being said, great showing for him. Not only did he finish well, but he held the ball up and made plays for others.

Wonderful game.

Seriously you can say that about pretty much every USA player, including Deuce. It just like Jozy gets the brunt of it because we don't have a replacement for him.

Yeah the Antigua & Barbadua match was interesting to watch. The pitch was tiny, I know a few commentators thought it was shorter than regulation actually. A long goal kick would end up pretty damn close to the 18 yard box and there was pretty much no room to attempt to play wide. Interested to see how the Jamaica field plays and if its similar to that pitch.

You cannot seriously compare what Deuce has done to what Jozy has done on the national stage.

Jozy gets the brunt of it because he has not been playing well. Period.

It's always interesting to see how a strikers performance is judged by his club's supporters after a game. Scoring a goal usually goes a long way in terms of changing one's perception of how they played.

Personally, I don't think there was that much of a difference in Jozy's performances against Belgium and Germany. He made the same runs and tried to bring other players into the attack whenever he got the ball. The only difference between the Belgium and Germany games was that he got better service (for the goal) and his runs into space weren't ignored (leading up to the assist for Dempsey's goal).

He created for others much more effectively in the Germany game. He looked like a different Jozy. But face it, strikers get judged based on goals because that's what they are there for.

It'll be tough. But we can do it.

Win in Jamaica, then come back to play Panama and Honduras. Hoping for 7 points, praying for the 9!

Soooooooo, the game is not televised again other than beIN sport, right? Sucks. This is a big game that I'd love to watch on HD, not on the computer!

Yeah the games being on beIN is pretty ridiculous. I haven't met a single person who has it yet, so we usually just watch the stream.

Does BeIN have an HD channel? All I can find on the guide is SD. SD sports should be used when interrogating terrorists. So painful.

They do. But it's up to your local cable provider to add it.

Yeah looks like Xfinity passed on it, as long as I can see it. The local bars around here put the USMNT and any other soccer on the small screens while they will have whatever combine highlights on the NFL Network running on the big screen. Irritates the **** out of me.

We have a bar where the part owner is a big soccer fan. It works out well. They show the games on a big screen, we spend money there. Everyone is happy.
