Torres, Azpi & Luiz are still on holiday. Not sure where Mata is but I'm assuming he's also resting.

They should all be joining back up with the team on the 28th

Didn't catch the game but from what I read Lukaku was very solid, Wallace/De Bruyne were standouts among the new/young guys, and Hazard is currently occupying a separate plane of existence from the rest of the squad.

I'm excited to see what Lukaku can do with the first team. If not this year, soon.

Mata and David Luiz are definitely staying. I'm writing that with ink.

I heard we are looking to buy Luiz Gustavo. This would be great. David and Gustavo would be almost perfect together in the midfield. Hopefully this does happen.

Back to the team itself, KDB looks great. I'm also really liking Wallace, looked solid. Lukaku is definitely our striker of the future, he reminds me a lot of Drogba. Hopefully he doesn't get loaned out again. I have faith in him.

I've read several articles saying that he'll have to be loaned out again this year as he cannot obtain a visa. He'll go to a European club to gain experience and playing time which will help him get a work permit for the following year.

Honestly I'd rather have De Rossi than Gustavo, we need a midfielder to fill the "Bad Mother****er" role that Makelele left vacant

Wallace will be loaned out this year for sure, Mou has already stated that. Hopefully the KdB injury isn't that serious cause he has played great these 2 games.

I'm pumped for this season as well, although it will probably be a 3rd finish again, I think this is year Hazard will take the BPL by storm, like Bale did.

I'm assuming Lukaku will stay with Chelsea this year, perhaps he will break out as well.

I don't know about you guys but the first thing that jumped out at me about tonight's match is how narrow we were/are. Oscar, Mata, and Eden all want to play centrally and it's great when we're interchanging positions and we can mix-in some counter-attacking but when we're trying to break down 8 behind be the ball it gets stagnant. That's why I think Moses played well in the preseason and Schurrle has looked pretty solid so far. Moses would pretty much get 1-on-1's all game because of Mata/Hazard/Oscar occupying multiple defenders. Same with Schurrle who has looked lively and full of energy. I think Jose is going to start him vs United. He gives us width and also tracks back. We might lose some quality of one of the #10s sit but we'd give our FBs more protection.

I'd be OK with Ba going off to Roma and only rolling with 2 ST's this year. He mistimed so many runs today and can't stay on his feet at all. If you're gonna play a ST like that, play Lukaku.

I'm not a big fan of Ramires in a MF of 2. I like him wide in a MF of 3. With the double pivot he rarely gets the chance to burst through the middle on a trademark goal. I was hoping to see Van Ginkel in the pivot during one of these 2 games. I think Mourinho saw the Villa-Arsenal and decided to go all-out for this one since the pressure to win at United won't be as high.

I think Mata sits for United since he's missed a lot of the preseason with us. It will come down to Schurrle and KDB IMO.

A HUGE test. I'm OK with a draw.

I don't really get it, I like who we have and I'm guessing Moses will be on his way out probably on loan. I do like that fact the it was being reported that he was going to Spuds and then we swoop in and take him away.

I'll be honest. I've only seen him play twice ever, both of them last year against us so I don't really have a feel for him. I do know he's short, skinny, fast, and can dribble which to me sounds a lot like Moses except he cost almost 3 times as much. And he's cup-tied in the UCL.

TBH, I have no idea but we've been linked to him for the past couple of years and like Schurlle we ended up getting him.

I do agree that Willian joining would probably mean somebody is on the way out, likely Moses. Which is sad because I like Moses.
