Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***

    I thought he looked great

First game with a new club and he was already going for highlight reel left-footed full volleys and making tricky passes. His off-the-ball movement was good too. He has so much confidence.

I think, at the moment, he fits the 4-2-3-1 system better than Torres. It will be interesting to see how Torres reacts, because I think there are really only two likely scenarios. 1) Torres busts his *** off to compete for his spot and starts playing like the 50mil player he should be, or 2) Torres pouts and sulks and Ba becomes the full-time starting striker, which I think could also lead to Torres getting sold next summer

I think the 2nd scenario is the likely one.

Rafa has a problem though. Do you not play Torres against Stoke but at the same time how do you sit a striker that just scored 2 goals in his opening game? Playing both will not work IMO. It was tried before with playing Torres wide and Drogba and nothing ever became of it. Should be interesting this Saturday. If Torres does start then Rafa better give him a short lease. If the game is 0-0 in the 55th minute. Ba time.

Yeah, I don't think Ba/Torres together would work either. That 4-2-3-1 is perfect for the players on that squad, the only thing that has really been missing is a striker that properly fits into that system. Neither of them are efficient as widemen, especially with Moses/Hazard on the team.

That 2nd goal was a strikers strike. Fernando doesn't convert that because he won't make that run.

Exactly! I thought the same exact thing. Ba started that goal wide and moved on to finish. Like you said, Torres might start the action but he would have stayed in that area and not moved.

West Brom have confirmed that Lukaku will see out the season at The Hawthorns.

Honestly I feel like Torres would have gone to ground

Probably... I hope Rafa leaves him on the bench to start against Stoke.

And good about Lukaku. With Ba here let him continue to play at West Brom.

Also looks like Terry will be participatng in a U-21 game today to test out that knee.

Yeah it would have been pretty pointless to recall Lukaku after getting Ba

Put Torres on the bench and do not let him on the field unless we are up by 5. I'm offically done with this guy now.

If Ba doesn't start this weekend there will be blood in the streets

Can't believe how many chances got blown vs Swansea though, also Ba's goal was NOT offside.

3 goals now in his first 2 games for the club, there is literally no reason whatsoever to start Torres right now.

80 minutes of nothing by Torres and gets applauded when taken off. The fans will now force Torres on the bench. We've been "patient" since we didn't have another CF but now that we do patience is at 0.

I just want this joke of a season to be over. We start off with a chance to win 7 trophies and we will probably end up winning 0. We gave Torres a golden ticket to become great and he continues to disappoint. Plus, we fire the Chelsea legend/manager who took us to the promise land and hire the 1 guy no Chelsea fan wants anywhere near the club. The once fortress that is called Stamford Bridge now as a welcome mat for every team in the world to come in and steal points. We, as Chelsea fans, began the season on a great high and we've already fallen to a terrible low and there is still 5 months left.
