I remember a lot of people hating on Mourinho when he did this the first time around. Seems like more people are being more accepting of Courtois replacing Cech. Sad to see, especially with Oscar out there playing in the #8 kit.

The rout is on, time to run it up.

          Another day, another win.

Only complaint I have; I hate how we always concede first. It seems like they love digging themselves into a hole.

I think Mou was right when he said Cesc was the missing piece. He's been damn near unstoppable.

Fabregas was the best player of week 1 of the league imo. Silky passes and real composure on the ball. It seems like he's been around forever. It's hard to believe he is only 27 years old.

I don't this Chelsea will have a massive goal difference disadvantage this year of the race is tight down the stretch. This looked like a much more proficient attacking side today. I was watching the match with my business partner and I commented to him, when Chelsea got their 3rd goal just 21 minutes in, how little Hazard had been involved. If they had scored 3 in 20 minutes last season, it would have had to be heavily reliant on Eden. It was great to see so many playmakers and to not need Eden to be brilliant.

Even if he's not directly involved in the play/build-up he's usually somewhat accountable due to the amount of attention he gets. Some non-Chelsea fans might have thought he had a down year last campaign but considering how much attention he got (doubling up all the time) due to us not having a pure LB (Azpi) who could overlap (although some of that was probably due to Mou instruction) he had to work extra hard to overcome it. It's why he was voted our POY and to the Team of the Season for the 2nd straight year.

His run, beat like 3-4 defenders, set up the 2nd goal. His balance is incredible and he was able to pull those defenders out of place allowing for Ivanovic to find Cesc unmarked at the top of the box. It also allowed Andre time to catch up and make the run which ultimately was picked out by Cesc. Cesc will get all of the credit (and rightfully so since the pass was sublime) but Eden's dribbling created that attack.

But overall, yeah, it's great to see generate an attack without relying solely on Eden. Matic was his usually fantastic self, dictating the pace/tempo. His ability to dribble and the fact that he always looks forward to play a pass as his first instinct is why Mikel is on the bench and will stay that way. Obi is a great closer though.

I really hope we keep Obi. He's on relatively low wages, he doesn't seem to mind not being a starter, and he's great at his job of coming on at the 75 minute mark to close out a game. Rarely concedes possession and is a quality defender.

He's a really great squad player to have, I hope he wants to stay a while longer.

Hazard's run, Ivan's pass right to Cesc's foot, Cesc's fake and pass right to Shirley and then Shirley's finish. A beautiful play all around.

Liked what I saw from the boys yesterday, was weird seeing Cech on the bench and not in goal and having someone else wearing the #8. I'm not too worried about how we gave up the first goal, yes the positioning was not great but it was a good pass and an excellent shot. I don't see our defense letting that happen as the season goes on.

                        O M G...

Is this how we look with a real center forward? AMAZING. Outside of Cesc, my eyes were just glued on Costa the whole time watching in amazement how we haven't seen this in a while. Movements, runs, shots, power, etc... I saw him play a lot last year in Madrid but it's just so refreshing watching this kind of play by a CF for the blues after a few years of Fernando F-ING Torres.

It still worries me going into the season with Torres and Drogba as backup strikers. One injury to Costa and we are not having a good time.

I know, scary. Please let these Torres to Roma for Destro rumors be true.

                              Yes, please...

Might as well be playing 10 men when Torres is in.

Looks Milan & Chelsea have all but agreed on a Van Ginkel loan. According to some sites they are about 2.5 million euros apart from El Nino going there. I would donate 100 euros so fast to that cause. #NoTorres was trending on twitter yesterday, lol.
