Oscar wasn't bad at all in the WC. He was really good in the opening game but then Scolari decided to move him back into the midfield. He still was much better than all of their midfielders/attackers not named Neymar

Oscar was probably Brazil's second best player in the WC behind Neymar. I thought he had a good world cup, just surrounded by players and a coach hell bent on ridding the world of any preconceived notions of Brazilian domination

Really? If we're going to come out conservative I actually wouldn't mind having Mikel in there. With Arsenal's midfield banged up he should be able to keep up and it would free Cesc of a lot of his defensive duties. Now, that would leave out either Willian or Oscar. Even though Oscar can track back he doesn't have the workrate of Willian BUT Oscar going forward is way better right now. Either way it's great to have Oscar/Willian/Schurlle/Mikel coming off the bench as impact subs for either chasing or shutting down a game. I'm going to watch it with 2 Gooner buddies. Man I really hope we wear our shooting boots.

It will be a nerve wracking game if our finishing is as woeful as it was vs Sporting

If Wenger decides to go for it (which he will), you guys will have a field day on the counter-attack.

I just hope and pray we don't get blown out. I'd love to see us win but honestly a draw would be a good result all things considered

                  Well, that was extremely satisfying.

A somewhat tight game in which tbh, they really never threatened us. Despite the odd refereeing (Bravo mentioned in the EPL) we soldiered through and didn't lose our cool. Credit to the guys for keeping their composure and all doing the job defensively. We defended as a unit as Oscar & Schurrle frequently tracked back to help shoo away danger. What a difference a finisher makes. Diego didn't get many chances but the one he had he took perfectly. Perfect ball by Cesc and what really has me excited is how our attack looks like their on the same page despite the 2 new additions. Cesc got the pass from Matic and immediately played that ball forward knowing Diego was going to make that run. Beautiful.

With the International break coming up it will give Thibaut a chance to rest before a fairly busy albeit not very competitive late October run.

                  Palace away
                  Maribor home in the CL
                  Man United away
                  Shrewesbury in the Cap 1

United should be well rested when we go to OT with no Rooney (which I think makes them better). I don't like looking ahead but that one is going to be fun.

I was looking at the comments section on BR and there was a butthurt Arsenal fan talking smack about Chelsea and some Chelsea fan said, "In our last 4 meetings, we've scored 10 goals and you guys haven't scored one."

                    That had me dying..

Honestly you guys showed us what we're missing.....Matic.

It was an even game save for the penalty and the Costa goal. I thought we held Costa, Fabregas and the offense but those mistakes were the game. You guys are head and shoulders the best team right now. Quality everywhere

Fabergas looked sharp and Oscar scored... If Oscar learns to score more often then it's game over for the rest of the league.

I liked that the team kept trying to attack at the end of the game instead of sitting back and wasting time, the extra practice attacking will help in close games later in the year against big teams.

I think it's more that we have been learning to use Fabregas to keep possession when sitting on a lead instead of just defending.

Oscar saved us early with that fk. We were on the backfoot early, especially Cahill.

Just a bone headed play by Dave for a deserved red. Oh well, we have a great backup in Luis and he can still play midweek vs Maribor.

I would pay to hear what Mourinho was saying to Cesc when he was near the sideline that had him smiling.

He only played 8-10 mins when we were trying to kill the game off. He didn't have time to do anything notable.
