Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***

The French league is actually pretty physical, quite similar to the Prem which is why players from that league tend to transition well.

Those CMs were basically just examples, though Dahoud and Zielinksi are legitimately available. Fabinho would be expensive and if he leaves I think he's just going to City. Zielinski would be the cheapest most likely but Napoli is a pain to deal with. Dahoud is a real treat but I think he's going to end up going to Dortmund.

If we are thinking of legitimate options then I'd say Tolisso and Jankto are the ones to look at that are readily available. Both young and very good, Tolisso would be more expensive since Lyon is ALSO a pain to deal with. I'd even say possibly Saul, Kimmich or Kovacic depending on whether or not they are going to be given actual minutes going forward (Kimmich/Kovacic), or if Atletico's situation becomes less stable.

A dream transfer would be Verratti, but that is never happening. Kovacic is most definitely the most talented of all the players I mentioned, he'd be a great buy.

I'm pretty sure Dahoud already has a transfer agreed to Dortmund.

Is Kovacic an allrounder though? I feel that we need a mix in there beside Kante.

Yes. Kovacic is good in both attack and defense, with more focus on attack.

His passing is exceptional, but unlike Cesc, he is still super athletic and VERY quick. Imo Kovacic would be the next best thing after Verratti/Isco.

Yeah Kovacic is a stud too. Can play as a #10, 8, and even a 6 at times. I think Madrid is grooming him to eventually replace Luka whenever he slows down.

Also, Moses needs toe surgery. I knew he wasn't right towards the end of the year. He didn't have the same burst.

This is correct. That deal's been done for a couple months.

Looks like we might actually be in for Tolisso. I'm definitely down with that.

Yeah I saw that and I would be very happy with him. One more year by Tolisso like he had last year and his price skyrockets IMO.

Also, curious to see how this transfer ban for Atletico affects Diego.

I'm still of the opinion we should get Lukaku regardless. He grew up a Chelsea fan, if we got him it would be pretty unlikely he'd leave, meaning we are more or less sorted for the better part of a decade.

Drogba was 27 when he joined us and was less proven and accomplished than 23 year old Rom. I'm absolutely positive we will regret not signing him back. Somebody like Jose will buy him if we don't and turn him into a world class striker.

Sucks but probably the best time for it to happen.

I just wish they would give these guys a proper breaks sometimes. It's bad enough with the cash grab jettisons to Asia/Middle East but International duty right after the season in a non WC/Euro year always tilts me.

Considering how often he's hacked down I'm surprised this isn't a headline more often.

He's carried some niggling injuries (hamstring 2013, hip 2015) but nothing like this. I bet Fellani was involved

His injury record is pretty remarkable, especially when you consider his play style and the league he plays in

So Matt Law is still maintaining that Lukaku is our top transfer target this summer.

Sounds like Tolisso is a possibility but I think that link only came about because Lyon want Traore so I'm not sure how seriously we should be taking it. Other than that, transfer targets and happenings have been extremely quiet on the Chelsea front, which is frustrating as a fan but that seems to be how the club has wanted to approach transfers for the last few years.

We have sort of randomly emerged as one of the few top clubs that actively makes agent's lives more difficult, which is where a lot of transfer noise originates from.

Or maybe the agents don't make a lot of noise because they are afraid Roman will have their family members kidnapped.

Linked with Mahrez all of a sudden.

TBH I'm not sure I disapprove. On his title winning form he's better than Willian and good enough to challenge Pedro. Also, he would offer a good alternative to Pedro since he's a baller like Hazard. He likes the ball at his feet and likes to dribble, could be what we need to keep Hazard from getting triple marked all the time.

A transfer window of Lukaku, Mahrez, Sandro and Tolisso would be pretty insane.
