Figured I'd get this going, even though most of the United fans on OS -- there are others other than me, right? -- don't post in this thread for some reason.

I have no idea how seriously Mou will take Europa, but I'm hoping we use more of our second-team -- Fosu-Mensa; Memphis; Schneiderlin; Darmian; Periera if he isn't loaned anytime soon; Tuanzebe; Rashford -- during the group stage.
Also, welcome back RVP!Comment

Entry #140 in my blog:
I think it's time to try out Carrick with Pogba. Carrick can CONTROL a match, and right now, Pogba is trying to do everything - get the ball, run, shoot, pass - and it's not really effective; he needs to be the guy making it happen in the opponent's half (playing guys thru, keeping the ball, shots on target), not the guy who tries to take 5 people on and loses it. He needs a partner that will dictate from the back and Carrick is our best option, Blind being the next and Schweinsteiger if he were actually in our plans. Past two matches, we've seen Pogba not really acting like a midfield player and it's really not good for our play.
Bull**** theorist in me feels like he's playing this way to prove his transfer fee is worth it and more. Mou needs to shape the squad while the schedule is (relatively) forgiving in terms of the quality of the opponents.Comment

I think he's just feeling out the squad trying to find his first choice XI. As much as I wanted Pogba at Chelsea I always knew he wasn't going to be worth the money. Not because he isn't quality, but because you can measure his output as easy as you can a CF with the same price tag. He's the easy target for club and country but if I were Mou I'd think about swapping Rooney for Herrera. Rooney was below average vs Watford and it's time for him to be rotated IMO.
What is worrisome is that Mou is already calling out players publicly (Luke Shaw) and his counterpart Pep can't do any wrong right now. Seriously, people were giving Pep credit for KDB's low FK as if he were the one that scouted the opposition.
I'm conflicted on Rashford though. He def deserves to start out on that left wing BUT he's so good as an impact sub. Martial seems lost at the moment which is understandable. He was the media darling last year and now he's sort of an afterthought with all the big names brought in. I still think you guys finish Top 4 though.

He really needs to drop Rooney to allow Pogba to be pushed further up the field. You can't pay 90 million quid for a player to be played out of position. I would also drop Fellaini in favor of Michael Carrick who is a forward thinking passer.Comment

Rashford, with his age, is fine starting some games while being an impact sub most games. The kid is simply flying, but we have to manage him well. No need to burn him out considering the forward options we have.
As for Rooney, I love him, he's a legend in my eyes, but he still needs to fight for his place. He's not justifying it at the moment. I honestly think the only formation that suits him with this squad is a 4-4-2.Comment

Bumping this up after 4+ years. So we draw Milan. It's not the same Milan as the past but it'll be nice to have Zlatan back at Old Trafford. Would have preferred an easier draw but it is what it is. Considering how much teams 2-5 are flopping around in position in the EPL and its time to start actually winning a trophy under Ole, this would have been the perfect starting point.
Btw, what ever happened to Leon? My god I havent posted in this thread since 2012 lolYankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York RangersComment

Pretty big game today which with/us, usually means trying to squeeze out a draw. Leicester losing today was pretty big. I’d really love to hold onto to 2nd but in the end, finishing in a champions league spot is all that really matters. Highly doubt we catch up with City. Only hope is for them to implode.Yankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York RangersComment

Horrible game. United always wanted a draw, or to try and keep it a draw and snatch a lucky goal. Hate that strategy. Thry deserved nothing today. Uninspired boring football.Yankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York RangersComment
