Well, that's awkward now. Haha. I set my DVR to record Fulham vs. Norwich City on Bein Sports tomorrow. I guess I'll have to find it on ESPN 3 now!

I usually prefer just about anyone other than ESPN to have any soccer licenses, but it'll still be nice to be able to watch some of the The Championship. ESPN gets in a lot more homes than Bein Sports, so that's good for the game. That being said, I enjoy Bein Sports quite a bit!

      The Beautiful Game Thread

I really like BeIn but I don't get it in HD and I like WatchESPN's ability to be viewed from multiple devices . Easier to access past games for me too.

Did BeIn have the rights to have replays up?

Just wondering because sometimes there's a limit to how long the leagues will allow them to stay up. For example, EPL matches are only available for a week on NBCSN's streaming site.

I'm the opposite tbh, I'd prefer ESPN over just about anyone aside from NBC. Fox getting the WC over ESPN is freaking tragic. Going from Bob Ley to Alexi Lallas and Fernando Fiore is legitimately depressing.

To be fair, Lalas was with ESPN in 2014, and was hilarious. And ESPN had Men In Blazers (who I love) do comedy shtick. I think the sheer volume of games will overshadow the studio crew. Plus ESPN will still have coverage there.

Now, if Lalas is doing color commentary i take all that back. It'll be trash. But I'm on the west coast so I'll be missing a lot anyways.

I'd agree Lallas was funny but only really because he and Ballack hate each other and ESPN purposely pair them together.

I mean, I'm sure it will be fine, but I'm really not a fan of Fernando and Lallas without Ballack isn't going to be as funny. Add in Wynalda and Barton and it's hard to argue that's not a major downgrade.

I can't stand the Fox studio show. It's amateur hour. You'd think by now they would have gotten their act together, but then you look at their other original content on FS1 and it's somehow even worse.

I don't really have a problem with Rob Stone because he just seems so excited all the time. Not like obnoxiously excited, but almost like a little kid, like he's just really happy to be there. He honestly doesn't really fit in with the rest of that crew.

To be fair, I watched a lot of the old Fox Soccer programming and the whole group eventually grew on me a little (similar to the BeIN crew as well), but I'd still have them at the bottom of my list of preferred studio and analyst teams.

The general information they get and use on the show, and the way they analyze things is just really poor. I get that it's basic and the American soccer audience isn't as educated just yet, but imo it's too basic and most of the time they come across as having zero clue.

On a related note, I just realized how much I want a studio team of Ballack, Lallas and Bobo. Just for one show, just to see what happens.

                      Re: The Beautiful Game Thread

So much of the soccer I watch is DVR'ed, so I rarely have time for the pregame and halftime stuff. I enjoy the Fox in-game commentary quite a bit, but I agree NBC does a damn fine job all the way around. And I've grown to like the BeIn Sports telecasts as well.

My issue with ESPN really doesn't have anything to do with any soccer coverage they've ever done. I've just grown tired of them in general. TMZSPN is what I like to call the network.

That being said, I'll watch whatever channel soccer is on and be happy about it.

Not a big fan of Fox but Friedel has really grown on me.

Whether you're new to the sport or a die-hard fan, these are the 100 best men's players and managers in football that you need to know. Welcome to the ESPN FC 100.

Dunno if anyone else has seen this, but I'm left with a few questions, mostly about the positions some of the attackers are listed at. Also, as someone who has used transfermarkt almost exclusively, did I miss something where Football Whispers became a go-to place for valuatioin? Or is that just ESPN being ESPN?
