    Re: The Beautiful Game Thread

I just saw that Manchester City bought an 80% stake in the Melbourne Heart of the Hyundai A-League. This happened January 23rd, but I missed it.

The Sheik now owns 3 clubs. Man City, NYC FC, and the Heart.

not the red bulls, they own New York City FC, and they're probably going to rename Heart to Melbourne City FC(trademark was applied for)

My bad. When I saw the announcement on youtube, when they said New York, I assumed.

You know what they say about that!

A soccer game turns into a series of Street Fighter II kicks.

Just a reminder ESPN starts airing a 30 for 30 soccer series tonight with a 30 for 30 about the Hillsborough Disaster.

What a boring game... Madrid should have won a lot more comfortably.

Barca went out there in the 1st half with no desire and not much game plan. Not surprising, they've looked like this for a while.

Folks have figured out Barca big-time and Martino has done nothing to address it. Neymar is pretty much the only one who runs at defenders. Sanchez does too when he plays. It will be interesting to see what happens with their transfer ban and whether or not they can even address their CBs in the summer.

The Continental proves once again that showing effort in scoring amazing goals is such a Plebian venture.
