Re: The Beautiful Game Thread
The Danish top flight has decided to change once again, this time reducing the number of teams in the top division by two, starting in the 2020-21 season. The new structure will be in place until 2031. In the 2019-20 season, 3 teams will be relegated with only one being promoted. The 12-team structure will retain the Championship/Relegation split, with 22 matches being played, then split in to the top 6 and bottom 6. Finishing top of the heap will still crown you champions, and now instead of the weird relegation playoff, the bottom two of the bottom six will be relegated. The team finishing atop the relegation group will have a chance to qualify for Europe through a playoff.Support Local Sports

Re: The Beautiful Game Thread
The Steven Gerrard era is already off to a better start than the Pedro Caixinhia era. Rangers through the first qualifying round of Europa with a 2-0 aggregate victory over FK Shkupi.
Of course, internet troll Rangers fans are upset that it was only 2-0. Me personally....1 friendly, 2 qualifying matches, and 3 clean sheets. I'm all for it considering how rare clean sheets were last year for Rangers.Comment

Re: The Beautiful Game Thread
I like to believe that most of us are in the know here, and we post these types of things more for the lurkers and because the occasional thing does pass us by, but in case this one hasn't been said enough....
Watch the Juventus documentary on Netflix, it's pretty fantastic. I could listen to Allegri talk forever, and while it's lacking a bit of bite, it's still a great documentary. I hope that they continue it for this season with the Ronaldo circus.Support Local Sports

You can tell there’s a lot of pressure at Juve to win the CL because his press conferences before and after matches are very confrontational on his part.
Now they have CR7 so that pressure is x1000.
It was good though.

Not sure "beautiful" belongs here.
Apparently the kits that were EA Digital only last year are back with new designs, and there are rumours that they'll be worn in real games, and dear god I hope not. The other teams are Madrid, Munich and Juventus.Support Local Sports

Re: The Beautiful Game Thread
This is the craziest story. An amateur Irish football team tried to postpone a game by telling the league one of its players had died in a car crash. The game was postponed and teams across the league observed a minute of silence. But it turns out the dude was very much alive.
