Going to give this MLS thing a shot. I haven't decided on a team yet, obviously Orlando City would be a no brainer for me, living in Florida. However, I think I'm gonna flirt with Seattle and see how it goes. Always respected the Seattle fan base, and of course love Dempsey & Yedlin (even though it seems Yedlin could be going to Europe). Excited for this game tonight.

You caught me a bit inebriated and after (or during) a tough loss that pretty much spiked our playoff shot.

Was nice seeing Dempsey score, and that crowd was amazing. I think I'm sold on Seattle.

& don't worry giggas, you're a good fan. As for the Jacksonville part, at least they had a really solid draft.

I have to admit, I just became a Timbers fan this year, but they really took my heart. Now they're trying to give it up, but at this point, I'm committed. RCTID, even if that's going to be in 20 minutes after all the beer they're going to make me drink.

I definitely wasn't aware of the passion MLS fans have until recently. I took a trip up to Salt Lake City to see some friends a few months ago and they were nuts about RSL, even gave me a free Beckerman shirt. So seeing fans like yourself, and the ones in Seattle tonight make me think one day soon the MLS will be a major American sport, which is good to see.

For the places where it's big, it's already a factor in the local sports landscape (like Seattle, RSL, KC, Portland, etc). However, there are too many teams in the league where it's just a non-factor for locals. Colorado, DC, Dallas are some examples.

I do think soccer is on the path to becoming a major American sport, but I think MLS has quite a bit more work to do.

The next CBA will go a long ways toward Garber's vision of making MLS a top 6 league by 2020.

You should definitely give MLS a shot. One of the (many) reasons why I moved from Florida to Seattle was for the Sounders. Soccer is taken seriously in the Pacific Northwest. I became a soccer fan after playing FIFA (of course) a few years ago and stumbled across a Sounders match on TV. The atmosphere was amazing! I had never seen anything like it.

I just went to my 3rd Sounders match when they faced Portland last night on 07/13/14. I brought 2 people new to the Seattle area who had never watched a full soccer match before. Needless to say by the end of the game they wanted season tickets! It's amazing up here and the Cascadia clash was a great first game to go to.

Going to be watching a bunch of MLS games lately until the Premier League starts, any suggestions on a team to follow? I grew up a hour away from NY so the Red Bulls are a option but other then that I was looking for a team in the East since Western Conference teams usually play pretty late at night with eastern time.

Kansas City had a nice header immediately after I tuned in.

Kinda weak penalty on the Red Bulls there but Le Toux sinks it.

Can't go wrong with Seattle. They have Dempsey and Yedlin, that should be enough right there.

Not to mention they have a huge fan base and play in the Seahawks stadium.
