    There's only one allocation order.

Ridgwell and Adi were signed as Discovery Players. Because the league owns all teams (single-entity, which is still needed, but that's a different discussion), the rules are there to prevent MLS from essentially bidding against itself on players.

It's laid out here, save for the Jones situation, which they didn't have a rule that covered the situation (they will soon/now, lol), but handled the best they could, IMO: http://pressbox.mlssoccer.com/conten...nd-regulations

While I do think the "blind draw" looks a bit silly to the outside world so to speak, I'm pretty sure Jones eventually made up his mind that he would be perfectly fine going to Chicago or NE and agreed to the draw. I don't like Jones , but good for MLS that he's here and I hope the trend continues for USMNT guys to stay home.

The new CBA should be very interesting and we'll probably see more "powerhouse" clubs because of the changes. I don't mind since I know LA is always in the mix for big names and quality.

I understand why they had to do it this way. I'm just saying the fact that it came down to that highlights the need for change.

Well I decided on my favorite MLS team(finally), Real Salt Lake. I was going to wait and root for Orlando City but there's very little on their roster so far, they couldn't get Ronaldinho to join Kaka there.
Looking at other teams I did more research and looked at videos and picked Salt Lake. I already thought they had one of the best stadiums behind Seattle and Portland but now I see some of their players and I'm sold on that team.

If that were to happen, we'd have a Toyota Park, Toyota Stadium and Toyota Field all in the same league.

Better then the Hyundai A-League, where the whole league is named after a company.

This Toronto FC season got ugly real fast. We're on our ninth manager in eight years.

My point is that I'm not sure why you singled out A-League when many of the world's top division leagues have title sponsors. And it's really only a matter of time until leagues like Bundesliga and Ligue 1 follow suit.

Maybe it's just my lack of knowledge on soccer but that Jermaine Jones thing makes no sense to me. I only know the transfer stuff from FIFA, but why are the rules in the MLS so different than the premier leagues around the world? For "competitive balance"?

Also to keep the clubs financial stable. If they ran these clubs like they do in europe, the whole league would have folded years ago after club after club would have gone bankrupt.

The goal of the MLS is not to compete with the top leagues of the world. It is to get Americans playing time for the WC.

I disagree with your last 2 sentences. The long term goal was very clearly stated by Don Garber: be a top league by 2022.

However, your first 2 sentences are right. That can't happen if the league isn't stable. I also love how the league is full of parity, like the NFL is. I watch EPL and other leagues, but I don't really care about them for the same reason I can't really care about MLB - only a few teams ever really have a shot, and the rest do their best to not suck.

Pumped for the US Open Final tonight, I have Seattle winning 3-0 with Dempsey scoring once and Obafemi Martins scoring twice. Any other predictions?
