It sucks, but if they can't figure out a way to participate with the rest of the league, how is it fair to include them in whatever they come up with to qualify for league-wide playoffs?

I see the MLS has launched a schedule for the rest of 2020 that includes 18 more games for each club (21 for Nashville and Dallas).

They left the Canadian teams off the schedule.

"Due to travel restrictions between the U.S. and Canada, Major League Soccer is working with the league’s three Canadian clubs regarding plans to continue the regular season. More details on schedules for the Canadian teams will be announced in the near future. "

I guess we'll play Montreal and Vancouver nine times each.

Won again tonight against Montreal in our Canadian mini-series to go top of the MLS in points.

Sounds totally legit to me! I don't know how anyone could think otherwise. LOL

We got another game against Vancouver coming up, our third in like three weeks.

Did I mention this is totally legit?

Since the border is probably going to be closed for few more months, I imagine the Canadian clubs will get sent to the United States at some point to finish the season.

Unbeaten now in 18 consecutive regular season games.

Unless MNUFC win it all, then it's the hardest season anyone's ever endured.

I'm such a jinx

TFC lose to both Montreal and Vancouver last week to end the streak.

Weird side note: The MLS Canadian club with the most points after this series of games between the clubs will play the winner of the Canadian Soccer League (currently being played in a bubble in tiny Charlottetown, PEI) for the Canadian Championship. Date and format to be announced. Winner gets Canada's sole 2021 CONCACAF Champions League birth.

If I post enough stuff, I'm bound to be correct at least once.

Vancouver got off to an interesting start in the USA by allowing four goals to LAFC in record time: the first 14 minutes in a 6-0 loss.

Sidenote: The mighty Canadian Championship final that's suppose to be played between Toronto FC and Forge (Hamilton, Ont) of the CSL will be played ... um, well, how is it suppose to be played when TFC is the USA until at least mid-November?

As I write this TFC is first in the East and Seattle first in the West. Maybe we'll meet again.

To tell you the truth, I'm more interested in the Supporter's Shield. The playoffs are such a crap shoot with the one-game playoff format.

Of course as soon as I mention this they've decided they're not going to award the Supporter's Shield this season that usually goes to the team with the most points. Ugh.

I can't believe this is what Henry had in mind when he decided to manage Montreal. The Impact lost its "play in" playoff game against New England after finishing ninth in the Eastern Conference. They didn't make the final of the domestic Canadian Cup and didn't set the world on fire in the MLS is Back tournament.

Obviously, a tough season because of COVID-19 and having to play home games in the USA. But if he was hoping to rehabilitate his image as manager after Monaco, I don't think that's happening anytime soon.

I'd hope that anyone looking at him as a manager would look at how the team was on the field and not his finishes in the weird competitions with weird rules during the weird year.


Also the end of the Orlando/NYCFC match was PEAK MLS.

I just read about Orlando/NYCFC. Never heard of a team losing their goalkeeper due to a red card (well, second yellow) in penalties. Still won despite that. Crazy stuff.

Nope, he was never going to rehabilitate his whole managing career off one season in Montreal and I agree the team isn't very good. I just don't think they have the ownership or resources to provide him with a top MLS team. But surely they can be better than this. Hope they're better next season which again will probably start in the USA for the Canadian clubs.

Edit: I forgot they're alive in the resumption of the CONCACAF Champions League in December. They'll probably win the whole thing now due to my reverse jinx.

What in the world was that?

I can't say I'm surprised that we lost as we've had trouble scoring goals from open play all season but Nashville should have scored like four goals rather than one. They had the much better chances.

Pozuelo had probably his worst game -- he was taking terrible shots from all over the pitch and I don't think one of them was on target. So many times he should have been passing rather than shooting. It certainly looked they had been off for two weeks. Jozy's just a waste of $6 million but he didn't get much service.

Now they get to come back to Canada, isolate for two weeks and play whenever they schedule the Canadian final. Serves them right.

I'm tempted to change my logo. Embarrassing performance.

Greg Vanney "stepped down" today as Toronto FC's manager. I wonder if it was actually his decision, a mutual decision or the club simply gave him the option of stepping down before firing him. I see Nashville got knocked out by Columbus the other day after basically walking all over Toronto FC so it wouldn't surprise me if it was closer to a firing.
