Mostly just wrong manager, he just isn't a "big team" manager.

He'd be a dream signing for any of the teams in the relegation zone. Not only will he keep you out of the relegation fight, but he is great at creating stability in teams that didn't previously have it. You want a guaranteed top 8 finish every season with possible EL here and there? Moyes is absolutely your man.

It's unfortunate that his reputation will take such a big hit because of this United job, he really is a great manager.

      Martino leaving Barca as well

Rogers to Barca, Moyes to Liverpool, and Mick McCarthy to United?

To me it was also sad to see him get booed on his return. Yes, he did some stupid stuff after he left (made low ball bids for Fellaini and Baines), but he was a God send to them. He kept them in the upper tier and even got them into the CL.

Having said that, Moyes deserves to be sacked. United played terrible football and his team selection at times was questionable. Yes the team had issues in midfield, but the fact of the matter is that he won't even qualify for the CL which for a team like Manure, is awful financially.

If that actually ends up happening, and right now it's much more 50/50 than a done deal, I'd much rather see Jurgen Klopp take over.

Exactly the same as to how I feel, and I don't particularly like Man Utd! I wouldn't be surprised if there are quite a few managers who go in and out of that job over the coming years.

              It is done.

I really wanted him to succeed. Ultimately, results, choice of tactics and play-style as well as the constant rumours about losing the locker room didn't help him. Moyes seems like a good man and I wish him well in the future.

As Sir Alex said – no one is bigger than the club. SAF got this appointment wrong. It's time to try and finish the year on a positive note and get this club back to where it belongs.

Fitting that the loss at Everton sealed Moyes' fate and officially put United out of the UCL next season. Even more fitting would be the Toffees grabbing that last spot ahead of Arsenal. What could be worse for Moyes?

The problem is, there's not a lot of good candidates to replace Moyes.

The only way I see United luring the TOP candidates (Pep, Klopp, Ancelotti, Mourinho) is showing the money and buying out their contracts.

I don't really want Van Gaal simply because he can't start working until after the World Cup.

The next few weeks should be interesting with the Class of '92 in charge.

There's no way Klopp would leave Dortmund, he wouldn't even leave Mainz until his contract expired. the other three are in better stuations right now than they would be in United.

Don't know about Simeone, maybe there's a way to get him. My personal favorite would be Martinez, but that's unlikely as well.

I don't have a great deal of respect for van Gaal, he has some great ideas but never sticks around for a long time and always had amazing players in his teams.

Van Gaal is the perfect hire for their situation in my opinion. He wouldn't be afraid to come in and whip the team into shape while making moves that might be unpopular with the supporters but need to be done.

But why fire Moyes before the end of the season if you're going to hire van Gaal who won't join you before late July?

No way Mourinho takes the job. He could have had it last year.

Van Gaal is exactly what United need right now actually. He doesn't stick around that long but they don't need him to. What he does do is set a great foundation for another manager to take over by re-tooling the system. He is a massive part of why Bayern are where they are right now.

He would come in to United, whip all the players into shape, and lay a solid foundation for a more long term manager to take over in a couple years.

Exactly. He won't be afraid to ruffle some feathers, which is what they need. I think you trade the month delay at the start for what he could do for the club going forward.
