Re: 2013-2014 UEFA Champions League Thread

I do agree that the mentality of the players is shocking right now. Never in a million years would I think that Man U would EVER mail in a performance like they did on Sunday against Liverpool at Old Trafford. They didn't show any pride whatsoever in their performance. It didn't help that Moyes came out before the game and said that Liverpool were favorites. You don't say that as manager of Man U ahead of that match at home. You just don't. Man U will be fine in the long run, but gone are the days of them just showing up and scaring the other team and referees into winning games.

And don't forget that a big performance out of them today could be just what they need to finish out the season on a strong note and at least get into the Europa League. Though they'll need to finish 5th to do that. 6th will be going to at least the runner up of the FA Cup.

Today, I am happy because I saw the United I know - threw caution to the wind, attacked, playing with pride.

Weakest team in the quarters? Probably. Still enough of a chance to make something out of this year.

Deleted tweet of the rehearsal draw.

We all know about that rehearsal draw from last year.

                PSG - Chelsea

Teams on left play at home first.

                ..........................................

Toni Kroos can start his audition for United's midfield at least.

I hope Buttner doesn't take it in the *** on that left side.

This is quite the batch of matchups. Usually you'll have at least one team that is in over their heads at this stage. Not this year!

Dortmund are ravaged by injuries and will be missing Lewa for the first leg, which is in Spain.

Just don't think it's going to be quite the same as last year.

Juve has bad luck to leave Champions League to early, other teams qualified but don't diserve that.

If anybody was shafted in the r16 qualification it was Napoli, not Juventus. Juve came out and laid an egg in the group stages.

Shaktar, Benfica, Napoli, Basel, and Ajax all finished their groups with a better record than Juventus. Of the teams that qualified for the knockout stages, Zenit was the only team that had as low of a points total as Juventus.

Don't get me wrong, Juventus is a fantastic team, but they significantly underperformed in Europe this season.

Gus Johnson and Wynalda doing the Bayern/ManU match. I like it.
