Lol, I'm sorry dude but that is absolute garbage. Plenty of players get caught up in the heat of the moment, they don't all throw wild haymaker punches at the backs of people's heads. The best part is, Alexis actually had a history of stuff like that, he's a hothead. But because he is liked, stuff he does gets swept under the rug.

Punished, but mildly? Dude that's a punch to the back of the head. Like, he really winds up too. That has zero place in professional sport and way more chance of resulting in an injury than lightly slapping somebody in the face, scratching their neck and calling them names.

My point is, plenty of other players do ****ty things too. The fact that people can excuse Alexis's behavior while calling for Costa to be banned from the game, to me, is very very silly.

what is silly is what most likely will come next. Costa will probably be targetted by other players in the league and I have a feeling the officials will look the other way.

I don't think I ever argued that Costa WASN'T a douche. That particular game also saw a Welbeck challenge that could have broken Cesc's leg, the fact that you are linking me these things tells me you missed my point.

Reading the FA press release, Costa has been charged with "an alleged act of violent conduct."

Gabriel has been charged with "improper conduct", and Cazorla has been given a warning.

I never claimed he was the only one that frequently does dirty stuff. Costa is one of the worst though and that is the point I'm trying to make. I was never a fan of the Charlie Adam's and the Suarez' of this world so I'm not sure how I'm being a hypocrit. I don't condone what Sanchez did either and I hope to never see anything like it again from an Arsenal player. I don't mind players getting under each other's skin as long as it's not violent.

Still faces his charge of improper conduct what his behavior after he received the card, but it seems that will most likely be a fine.

I don't think there's a way that Costa doesn't get a ban for the swing on Koscielny.

At this point I'd rather see Mike Dean and his assistants punished more than anything, but as of now Dean is still set to work a PL game on Saturday.
