I wonder if Klopp realizes the insane amount of pressure he is about to put himself under.

He's already being touted as the Savior of Liverpool, I hope this doesn't end poorly for him.

I will not have any of this negative speak right now.

          Since it's all but official...

I really like Klopp. His style of football basically reminds me of Fergie. Now that he's joining the rivals, I will have to cease any appreciation for him on the chance that he actually improves them. More entertainment for the EPL though!

Just curious, what about Klopp's style reminds you of SAF?

Gegenpressing is not quite the opposite of what SAF did, but pretty close. The only similarities I can see is that they both favor attack, nearly to a fault.

I don't think we will ever see another team play like SAF's teams tbh. 2 striker systems aren't used anymore, and his style was absolutely suicidal. All out attack all the time, super super risky passing. He was as obsessed with scoring goals as Jose (normally) is with keeping clean sheets.

Exactly that, constant attack (or heavy metal according to Klopp). I watched a couple of their matches during their UCL Final run and noticed their counter-attacking which was also a SAF staple, especially with the use of wingers.

SAF actually changed his all-out attacking mentality -- at least in Europe -- because of that classic United-Madrid match with Ronaldo scoring a hat-trick. That obsession with scoring became more subdued in order to succeed more in Europe, which eventually happened in 2008. That's why his final season was so fun to watch; so many comeback wins and a general "**** it, let's just throw everything we have at our opponents" and it worked.

That's the mentality I want LVG to have in the final 15 minutes of matches, but I've only seen that happen twice.

LVG is very similar to Jose, he wants control at all costs, very defensively minded as well. That part of SAF's legacy was gone for good as soon as they appointed LVG.

According to him, he wants to entertain (i.e. attack) but he leans more towards pragmatism. Like Rio said, us fans just have to adjust because we'd be hard-pressed to find another manager who's as swashbuckling as Sir Alex was.

And of course they're similar. He was his apprentice!

Interesting sidenote, of all the recent top managers, SAF was the only one that was a striker in his playing days, the rest are almost all midfielders. Even more interesting, most of them were DMs. Definitely helps explain why short passing and possession has become so popular.

Did Jose ever spend time as the team bus driver? Might explain certain things. LVG was a PE teacher after playing, which explains his being a philosopher. Wenger must've had an adoption agency, which explains his knack for grabbing kids.

Different topic: Would you guys still support your club if they ever got relegated?

                            Without hesitation.

Plot twist: I supported Chelsea before Roman.

Double plot twist: Chelsea was founded before 2004

The only thing that would suck would be less games on TV. Though if one of those clubs got relegated, you'd magically see more Championship games on TV over here. Kind of what happened in Scotland when 3 of the top 5 supported teams found themselves in the 2nd tier last season.

I would argue that if someone wouldn't, then they're not much of a supporter right now.
