Pretty cool of Frankfurt to let Robben and Robert score on their Bayern league finale

Hoffenheim and Frankfurt laid down today. At least the latter had built up enough points to where they could back into a EL spot, although they have to play in now. Good call on Leverkusen.

Leipzig rested their starters as expected. There might be a little bit extra in it for Kovac with the speculation about his job.

One of the best things that happened to Leverkusen besides firing Herlichh was getting booted from the Europa League early. With their small squad and injuries (Bellerabi, Bailey, and Bender), they were able to really focus on the league.

Making the UCL is HUGE for Leverkusen. Not only the much needed money, but they also likely hold onto Brandt (who was/still might be off to Dortmund), Bailey, and probably Haevertz for a year. Haevertz played so well late that he probably priced himself out of the Bundesliga. The kid is legit. I really like Brandt too.

Wolfsburg nearly made up 10 in GD today slip into 5th. If they hadn’t conceded they would have pulled it off to avoid the very early EL qualifying round.

I’m almost certain 7th place isn’t a EL spot in Germany.

EDIT: Actually they are in because of the participants in the Cup Final. But the other thing is that Wolfsburg is also in the group stage along with Gladbach. Didn't realize 6th got in too because of the Cup winners being in the CL.

                Couple tidbits here

Dortmund will feature on a new Amazon documentary, they were followed with cameras this season.

Mario Götze penned a thank you to Dortmund that's well worth the read.

With one match to go, the final day in Serie A has two CL spots up for grabs, currently occupied by surprise package Atalanta and Inter Milan, both on 66 points, AC Milan sits a point behind with 65 and Roma are three points behind at 63. Atalanta will take on Sassuolo, Inter Milan face off against Empoli, AC Milan take on SPAL, and Roma take on Parma. Lazio have two matches to play (one today) should they win both they'd be on 64 points and could pip the final EL spot. At the bottom Bologna, Fiorentina, Udinese, Empoli, and Genoa are all fighting for survival. Bologna have Lazio today, then Napoli. Udinese take on Cagliari, Empoli take on the aforementioned Inter Milan and in the clash that may decide it all, Genoa and Fiorentina face off.

Celtic, Bayern, and Valencia (over Barca!) won their respective domestic cups today.

Union Berlin into the BL for the first time in their history. Awesome scenes with a proper pitch invasion.

Great to see them come up. Supporters are very involved with running the club. They rebuilt the stadium in 2008 themselves since there wasn’t enough money to hire labor for it.

It's good to see another ex-East German team in the Bundesliga. Before the wall fell, there were two East Berlin teams in the first division of the DDR-liga, Union and Dynamo. Dynamo had support of the government, which led them to winning 10 straight titles. However, Union always had a better fan support, which allowed them to not fall as far (4th division) as Dynamo did.

Sadly I'm not sure how long it's going to last. They'll probably be the favorites along with Paderborn to go down.

Womens world cup starting this weekend.

Underrated story heading into it, Christine Sinclair of Canada is likely gonna become the all time scoring leader in international womens soccer history. Shes 4 away from sole possession of 1st. Abby currently in 1st.

The women's world cup is so much more fun than the men's. Just enjoy the vibe and the competition more. Just feels less built up, and less about egos of individual players. Hopefully we get some teams beating expectations and knocking off the bigger teams.

My soccer interest is still recovering from the travesty of last year's tournament but hopefully the women's World Cup helps matters.

Total calamity for England vs. the Dutch in extra time.

The turnaround from Lingard’s goal to the third Dutch goal is definitely a little bit hilarious.
