No you aren’t crazy, he’s been one of their most important players for a while now. Most City fans I’ve seen are genuinely concerned how they will replace him.

Anyway, I get what you are saying but that still doesn’t change the fact that for all the praise United gets for their stellar defense they’ve only conceded 2 fewer goals than City’s “suspect” defense.

I think it's him and KDB. KDB is much more important than any of those "slash" players you listed.

I'd put KDB at #1 but Ferna is certainly close. He's so vital to what City does in terms of building the attack from the back forward. He's the best holding/defensive midfielder we've had since De Jong.

Is Garcia going to be good enough to take over for him? I remember Garcia being considered up there with the Foden/Sancho/Diaz crew in terms of talent. Haven't seen you guys strongly linked with any DMs.

Now isn't that player for United Pogba? We're having this discussion right after spending a bunch of time dismissing the fact that he's out of their lineup.

Pogba is their second best player, and he's important to their attack, but if you look at the difference between this season and last season for United the answer would pretty obviously be Matic.

Pogba was good last season but he was also tasked with a role that doesn't allow him to play his natural game. With Matic in the team he can play his natural game.

Also I don't think anybody was dismissing Pogba being out, just saying it was a poor excuse for United playing crap football.

A huge deal is made of Pogba being out at United and yet, how many times this season has Liverpool been able to field their full strength, preferred starting 11? For Chelsea I can tell you it was twice. The rest of the time we have been missing at least 2 key players at all times.

I think for Liverpool the answer to that is zero if you consider Clyne to be the preferred right back. With the preferred attacking quad of Mane-Firminho-Salah with Coutinho playing behind them in midfield? Once. Our best combo pressing/creator midfielder, Adam Lallana hasn't played yet this season either. We play much better with him in the lineup. Lallana and Coutinho should both be back after the break in time for the Chelsea match. Clyne had a setback - him playing this season at all might not even happen at this point.

Saw that we may make a run at Can, but that's the only name I've seen. I'd assume he still figures into their plans.

Replacing Fernandinho with Can seems like it would be tragic.

Yeah, at this point Can can go to Juve on a free for all I care.

I’m not sure many Juve fans will notice if they swap Khedeira for Can apart from the fact that Can is actually out there on the pitch.

Seemed like everytime he touched the ball he created a goal chance.

But Tottenham could not put anything together in Arsenal's third.
