They implemented it in Bundesliga, and there have been several complete botch jobs using it regarding penalties and cards. While it's better than nothing, it's not a total solution in all cases.

I'm fully on board using it for offside decisions though.

Offside decisions would theoretically be the quickest and easiest for VAR to reach, so yeah I agree on that one.

I'd be very happy if they implemented the TMO like rugby does it. Where they're both mic'd up, and the TMO is giving his opinion and is more of an equal with the referee. And they show the replays in stadium that they're actually looking at so the crowd understands what's going on too.

There's a bunch of stuff they could take from rugby honestly.

I've been saying for a long time that they should mic up the refs in soccer, it would make such a drastic improvement to the game in general if all the players (eventually, definitely not at first) were all much more respectful.

Was it a cross? Was it a chip? Should it count the same as any other goal? Should the goalkeeper be penalized for it? In other sports people are desperate to find equations and "true" measurements of performance, outside of the simplest ones. I guess they would just pretend that goal didn't happen lol.

I mean, if it goes in the back of the net it’s a goal, I guess that’s the beauty of soccer.

Anyway, fair result really, both teams were evenly matched. Was definitely an entertaining 1-1 for sure.

Indeed but I'll take it. No picture on the scorecard.

In other news, Özil sure is"ill" a lot...

It's getting kind of sad for Everton. I feel bad for them. I can't muster up any more joy out of their misery after spending so much money and getting everyone all hyped for their "dark horse top 4 run".

Haha, just kidding, it's still hilarious.

Saw somebody point out that it’s starting to feel a bit like a reverse Leicester City. Spent the whole season saying they couldn’t possibly win it and it happened.

This is basically how it was when Leeds went down. Far too big of a club to get relegated, bigger than Everton really (they were two seasons removed from a CL semifinal visit when they got relegated).

Not saying it will happen, but man something needs to start changing soon for them.
