Re: The 2017-2018 EPL Discussion Thread
I'm kind of lucky that the only friends I have who watch the PL, are Arsenal fans. It sucks they are fans of a rival but at least they are all the same group so I don't hear it from multiple fan bases.Current careers:

It's interesting because around Christmas we basically all separate into different banter groups, mostly based on league position. Except Chris, no one talks to Chris.Support Local Sports

Shortly after posting this, one of my friends sent me an angry text because his brother (who is also a Liverpool supporter) wouldn't agree with his reasoning on why he would rather have Klopp than Mourinho for a cup run "any day of the week".

United
United
Liverpool
Liverpool
Spurs
Don’t really have any animosity towards Spurs, but let’s just say the recent Derby/CL week wasn’t the greatest.Comment

Matchday 36 has a lot of mid-table games that have no meaning but there are a few big games.
Liverpool v Stoke City - Normally an easy Liverpool win but they could be resting players for Champions League and Stoke are fighting for their lives so to speak. Might be interesting...
Southampton v Bournemouth - Saints need a win and help in order to stay up.
Swansea v Chelsea - Swansea need a win to stay at least 4pts above relegation while Chelsea need a win to try chasing down Spurs/Liverpool for the 4th place spot.
Spurs v Watford - Spurs need a win to stay in a Champions League position.
Arsenal v United - The last time Wenger will be playing United (most likely)Current careers:

Re: The 2017-2018 EPL Discussion Thread
I literally have zero friends who watch soccer on a regular basis, much less the Premier League. My 10-year old is my only soccer buddy and the only person I discuss soccer with other than you guys here at the forum.
I don't really have a favorite PL team, but I tend to pull for Spurs and Everton the most. Fulham is in great position to be promoted next season, and if that happens, they'll be my clear favorite. I follow them regardless of which league they're in.
My son switches all the time, but he tends to favor Manchester United the most. He likes Spurs too.

Been to a few Fulham games when I was a kid, Craven Cottage is a cool ground and it was one of the few places where nobody hassled me for being an American.
Probably my second favorite stadium after the Bridge.Comment

Great performance by Stoke. A few 50/50 calls that went their way for sure but to get a point at Anfield you need some calls.
If Spurs don't screw this up, 3rd place is theirs for the taking now.Current careers:

How massive is the game next week for us at Stamford Bridge? Chelsea have 2 games in hand on us. Nothing is ever straightforward at Liverpool.Comment

It would take nearly a miracle for Chelsea but it would be crazy to see Liverpool finish with no trophy or Champions League spot after the season they have had.Current careers:

A draw at Chelsea or a win vs Brighton at home with a full week's rest. I like the chances. And that's assuming Chelsea drop no points.
Obviously the draw wasn't ideal today but that was actually an important point to gain.
Finishing wasn't good enough, but it would've been nice to have a penalty called on that blatant handball.

Spurs still have more Penalty attempts at Anfield than we do all season. That's damn near statistically impossible.Chicago Bears

Chicago Blackhawks
MLS: Portland Timbers
