As a neutral it's a shame that Firmino and Salah look set to miss the return leg against BarcaSupport Local Sports

I mean weirder things have happened. Let's all turn back the clock to *checks notes* 13 months ago to find the last time Barca blew a 3-goal 1st leg lead to *squints* Roma? Unlikely, but not unheard of.Comment

With Salah and Firmino, I'd give Liverpool a fighting chance, I think that the Best XI fom Liverpool can hang with Barcelona, without them it's significantly harder because of how well they can play together.
Messi will always be hard to beat though.Support Local Sports

The only thing is Liverpool has to go balls out from the opening whistle which could leave them open in the back.Comment

Re: 2018-19 UEFA Competitions Thread
Having pressed as hard as they can while surviving 15 good Barcelona chances, Liverpool only lead 1-0 in the 85th minute. The goal is probably from a controversial penalty in the first half. The referee's whistle blows and the weary Liverpool players (except Daniel Sturridge, who has been pouting in the corner since about the 65th minute) turn their heads to the sideline. It's a double switch, on come Divock Origi and James Milner. Origi immediately scores after cutting inside to his right foot from the wing. 2-0. Milner then gets away with 4 yellow card tackles over the next 5 minutes with no foul called, then earns a free kick on a dubious foul call in the final minute of stoppage time. The scene is set. Trent Alexander-Arnold whips the ball in. Virgil Van Dijk raises up but mistimes his jump, with the ball taking a slight deflection off his man bun....to the knee of Divock Origi who accidentally knocks the ball past ter Stegen into the net. 3-0, we're heading to extra time!
Shaken, both teams play a cagey 30 minutes with no score. Penalties.
Coutinho, Suarez, and Messi all miss for Barca as Liverpool players are calmly stroking their penalties into the net in front of the Kop. They are through!

He'll saunter around the pitch for as long as he feels like, maybe even after Liverpool score twice, but he'll eventually stick the knife in by scoring an incredible yet effortless goal.Comment

I think the match was a lost cause, anyway. I'd honestly rather them be healthy for the weekend and hope for Leicester to get a result, today.#LFC
