Re: 2019-20 UEFA Competitions Thread
With FFP in place, teams are only allowed to lose a certain amount of money over a 3 year period. Essentially, they're merging 2020 and 2021 into one year for the purposes of being compliant with FFP.
What does this mean? I imagine teams will still be pretty conservative in the transfer window based on the losses they've taken during the pandemic, but this merger of seasons gives teams more flexibility, especially wealthier teams.Comment

Re: 2019-20 UEFA Competitions Thread
Apparently Turner is opting out of their deal with UEFA to broadcast the UEFA Champions and Europa League. So while the rights are going to CBS in Fall 2021, we currently might not have coverage in the US for the final part of this season's UCL/UEL, nor the 2020-21 version, unless CBS scoops the rights a year early. (Mostly because I doubt any OTTP service will pay for the rights for one season)Support Local Sports

Only one from Bayern, Juve, Barca, Man City and Real Madrid can make the final, after the draw today.

Looking forward to see how PSG screws this up.
I understand Chelsea's perspective, but I would have liked to see Werner vs Atletico. I imagine we'll roll with Schick, since Roma seems keen to work out an arrangement to let him stay in Leipzig.Comment

Lol
One of the statements from CAS said something like “We lack the resources to investigate properly”.
Then CIty gets a 10mil fine because they didn’t cooperate lol.
FFP...such a joke
Keeps the old guard in tact and just further creates separation.

Anyone who was in the know was saying this was going to happen, so no surprise this morning.Comment

From a two-year ban to a 10 million fine. LOL.
I'm actually going to read that judgment when I have more time. I honestly don't know if the original ban was absurd or the appeal result was absurd. But that's a huge difference that calls into question the whole process.
Easily City's biggest win of the season.
Edit: Obviously a bad day too for Leicester who have pretty much totally collapsed and are going to miss out on the Champions League spot when United passes them.Comment

Re: 2019-20 UEFA Competitions Thread
From the little I've read, UEFA didn't do themselves favors by not handing out a punishment within the time frame their own rules state they must. The issue is they were not able to, as City hid what they were doing so well that it took UEFA a few years to sort through it.
Such fun.Comment

Such fun.
They basically let their own statute of limitations run out but then later admit that City didn’t cooperate [emoji23]
