    Just terrible from the start…

Sterling misses a sitter inside of a minute that would have silenced the crowd. Mendy howler with his feet AGAIN and then we get punished trying to chase the result.

    This league will humble will

Case in point Newcastle giving City fits!

What a crazy day in English football. Leeds taking down Chelsea, Newcastle up on City (for now).

Only downside of the Chelsea/Leeds result is we have to listen to American soccer media talk about Jesse Marsch over and over for the next week lol. Like, I don't care that he's American, I promise. It does not bring in new fans.

I feel like the Newcastle/City match is prepping us for a future where those two clubs rule English football. [emoji848]

Of course the media will talk about the greatest contest in the history of the Premiere League! Pulisic v. Marsch, two titans of the game. This will single handedly propel the sport past the NFL and the USA will win every world cup for the next 100 years. Now they also have Tyler Adams to talk about, USA USA USA! NBC should just get rid of the two Robbie's and Rebecca Lowe, make Tim Howard full time and add Alexi Lalas and Joe Buck to the crew it's an American invasion! [emoji849]

If you can't tell I strongly dislike the over exposure that is forced on our EPL coverage.

I get why they do it, but it's not an effective way to sell that product. It's like trying to sell new fans on La Liga basketball by hyping up that Tyler Herro plays for Valencia. For me to care about that product I'm going to need to have some interest in Spanish basketball culture, the history and geography of that region, etc. Otherwise I'm going to be out after a week or two.

Thankfully America is diverse enough that enough people care about all these leagues without really caring all that much about Pulisic, or Tim Howard's opinions lol. Although I do miss Lalas and Wynalda on Fox's soccer coverage, for whatever reason. [emoji849]

I know it's not going to happen but could you imagine the chaos if this was the end of season table instead.Screenshot_20220821-185527.jpegScreenshot_20220821-185546.jpeg

The reason I love it is because the English (not UK, specifically English) media and general fans decided he would be a disaster only because he’s American. Without paying attention to what he had actually done so far.

I've heard Ted Lasso's little cakes are to die for.

On a side-note: does Peacock show ALL the EPL matches? I'm thinking of subscribing but I want to be sure I'll actually get to watch all of United's matches (and then some). I'm currently watching thru Setanta on a free plan (I'm sure I'll be made to pay soon enough) but sometimes the lack of commentary is boring.

We've conceded first in SEVEN consecutive premier league games.

That not going in sums up the start of the season quite well.

United are playing like they're so happy both Maguire and Ronaldo aren't starting.
