Is it statue or statute of limitations?

Still angry those ****ers were around when we finally got our **** together and should have 3 league titles to show for it.

          Re: 2022-23 English Football Thread

“Premier league clubs want City kicked out of the league”

Yeah I’ll bet they do lmao. So much self-serving nonsense involved in this whole thing, can hardly read stuff online cause fans have whipped themselves into a frenzy of fanfic level comments about how City should probably be liquidated and titles retroactively re-awarded. “60 point deduction would be enough to relegate them probably”, LOL how many times in HISTORY has that kind of punishment been handed out? People are even saying Chelsea should be next (we did not cook the books anyway) because there’s no limit to how far they can go back and investigate. So now where do you draw the line, we investigating Arsenal’s entrance into the football league?

Then you’ve got the clubs who are totally silent right now, because the reality that more clubs than City have skeletons in their closet is a little too close for comfort.

The old guard would love for City to go down big time. Not because of any actual moral objection, but because they went to great lengths to ensure they would always be at the top and then Chelsea and City came along and ruined everything.

City’s problem is they won things. Lots of clubs have broken financial rules and very few people cared, but City competed directly with the old guard and that’s not ok.

People can talk all they want about what Spurs have done, but if everyone is honest with themselves they will realize that City and Chelsea are symptoms of a bigger problem that nobody even wants to acknowledge. Y’all think Tottenham are competing for titles against United/Liverpool/Arsenal with a completely unchecked run in the 2000s/2010s? Not on your LIFE lmao.

Honestly even Arsenal and Pool would have struggled against the financial behemoth United had become, despite the invincibles. I mean shoot, United have outspent City pretty much this whole time hahaha.

Idk. Punish City or whatever, but I wish more people were honest about why they hate them, and I wish more clubs would stop pretending too.

I don’t want any nonsense retroactive titles. That’s for sure. Either have financial rules or don’t. But do NOT *pretend* you have them.

Makes it even more dumbfounding that the Prem hasn’t hired it’s independent regulator yet although that regulator would also oversee the goings-on with the FA which I’m sure they don’t want.

It brings me back to something Mourinho said at the time

I don’t really think UEFA is dumb, more so in the pocket of state run clubs.

Jose was the most entertaining coach we've seen and its not even particularly close.

First Chelsea stint Jose is honestly hard to even describe, legitimately a force of nature. He also completely changed the league and how teams played, but man he was something else lmao.

Look at United trying to stick the fork in City.

Right when City is down in the dumps, the Qatari bid supposedly comes in and is said to be “significant”.

United backed by oil money is a scary thought

United is probably the last team on earth that needs a cash injection lol.

Like I said, they’ve outspent City basically this whole time, and that’s WITH their owners siphoning money for themselves. Their revenue streams are outrageous, money is like at the bottom of their list of needs.

I guess it would be good PR for whoever buys them? Take over United and claim to give them a “war chest” when in reality the war chest is just “not stealing money from the club”.

You can bet if it were the other way around, City would do becpining to do the same. United were always being sold even before this stuff so there is that. Glazers have been mostly horrible and absent. Blind leading the blind for far too long.

It would be a win win for whoever buys United as long as two things happen.

                        1. Old Trafford gets updated from its current state.

                        2. Money is being spent immediately in a big way to create the illusion that this is happening for the first time

Oh I know, the timing of it just made me laugh considering all that’s going on. Cheating was literally the only way City could compete with you guys and United went out and pulled the ultimate trump card.

                          Ultimate big bro move

Just saw a replay, VAR was checking for offside. Patrick Bamford was a millimetre onside.
