He didn't mean it, it's a contact sport, he was going for the ball, on and on and on. It can't be dangerous play if its part of the game, he was trying to kick the ball, by now you know I'm being sarcastic but many people seriously think this absolute drivel. What are we supposed to do, judge intent and legislate against normal footballing actions? What's next, punishing studs into shins because one player was slower than another?!
