Re: 2022-23 English Football Thread
Just a mistimed legitimate attempt at the ball—play on.
In reality, however, and not the fantasy land where that is okay, Webb's mid-season takeover seems to be creating even more issues than normal as it has further muddied the waters of when VAR should be involved, etc.
If only the PGMOL could pull its head out of the collective ******* that is the greater Manchester area (basically its own *******) and realized that a match referee and VAR should not be viewed as two separate officials policing and overseeing each other but instead another pair of ****ing eyes in the sky.
Onward, to the off-season where Howie will swear he's shaken things up for the better.
My favorite part was commentary saying "it definitely struck his arm." Nah, his arm struck the ball.Last edited by Krebstar; 02-19-2023, 05:37 PM.Comment

Re: 2022-23 English Football Thread
I’ve said before that Ben White is, by far, Arsenal’s most cynical player, because it’s true. Arsenal just had a goal overturned because he shamelessly held onto a keepers hand on a corner. Never seen that before—just another day for Benjamin.Comment

If they escape I'll be disappointed as it will mean Dyche escaping relegation again. Burnley sacked him before they were relegated for those who forgot, but he was taking them down. Down like a can of worms, or something.Comment

I haven’t seen them play but all I’ve read and heard about Burnley now is that they play good football.
That’s going to be really weird to watch.

Yeah, apparently, Kompany has entirely rebuilt their footballing identity. But I’ll believe it in the top flight when I see it. It’s easier to stick to your philosophy when you’re not battling relegation.Comment

Even in our worst previous seasons we still beat Tottenham.
What a nightmare.Comment

I get Grimsby is a tiny club, but they beat Southampton so I'm still not that impressed.Comment
