We'll go and lose at Southampton now (hopefully not). We typically play rubbish after an international break. Then next week City at Anfield.

This was the first time I’ve watched Southampton this season. What are they doing playing out of the back like that? They’re lucky - on another day Liverpool could’ve scored four just from taking the ball off their feet while they kind of stood there with the ball. They got several bounces that could have just as easily led to an immediate chance.

It’s not very often that you hear announcers be completely baffled by a team’s tactics, but they weren’t holding back on mentioning how crazy it was.

But you were right about looking off. No discipline at all. First Southampton goal VVD looks like he becomes bored looking at a bank of 10 players, dribbles into them for no reason, and gives them an easy counter. They let the guy who picked up the ball dribble in a straight line to the edge of the penalty area. That foul was probably outside the box, but I’m not even mad. That kind of play deserves to be punished.

On Southampton’s second goal Szobo misses a tackle and three Liverpool players proceeded to chase the ball like a bunch of U10 players. Goal scorer just waltzes into the box completely ignored.

A big thank you to Southampton for doing everything in their power to make the match hard for themselves. Gifted Liverpool 3 points today. Salah’s first goal he’s probably thinking “well that first touch was super bad for my standards but guess it’s going in because the keeper just ran past me for unknown reasons”

United got absolutely manhandled and only survived because Ipswich couldn’t finish a sandwich.
