I don't think Akinfeev is as good as everyone touts him to be. He's a bit undersized by modern day keeper standards & has had numerous fitness issues throughout his career. I really think he'd struggle with the crosses from the wings that he'd face week in & week out in the Prem.

Personally I think he gets overrated because of the former great USSR keepers, and people are trying to get back to those glory years, similar to how every young french MF creator is touted as the next coming of Zidane....

Just my 2 cents on Akinfeev.

Pity about Merida leaving, but he wasn't getting a lot of chances
and now has a chance to go back hom,e and perform
With the emergence of Ramsey and seeing Diaby step up. I think Fran realized, that it was going to be extremely difficult for him to play first team football on a regular basis.

Arsenal won't make a keeper change. If they get anyone it will be a striker, but Wenger is always reluctant to spend and seems to rate Fabianski highly, so I don't think a keeper is high on Wenger's wish list.

Looks like Roma is going to loan Stefano Okaka to Fulham. Solid pickup for the cottagers while Zamora is out hurt. Okaka scored vs Fulham in the Europa league.

Maxi will fit right in with this underachieving Liverpool team coming from Atletico.

Gah....Spurs supposedly interested Eider Gudjohnson. WTF? Seriously? I wouldn't waste anytime with him.

The Simon Kjaer to Spurs rumor just won't seem to go away, he's an interesting player but probably a bit to young to be a major factor from the jump, and he'll cost premium bucks.

Just got back from the Crystal Palace/Petersborough game - Victor Moses' last at Palace. A friend of a friend works for the club but couldn't tell us Moses' 'likely' destination. Will be in the Premier though. We'll see on Monday.

                            Looks like it is offical:

"Wigan's quest for survival has received a timely boost with the signing of the sought-after forward Victor Moses from Crystal Palace. According to the player's agent, Tony Finnigan, the player has signed a 3½-year deal for a fee thought to be around £2.5m after being sold by the administrator Brendan Guilfoyle, who was appointed last week to seek buyers for Palace's entire first-team squad."
