    Re: The Transfer Thread

I keep reading £35 million. I'm guessing it's around that rough area, but as Acid said, it could be more. There were provisions about trophies won and what not. Which means we'll most likely get more. Ha.

Here's what I saw from the soccernet article:

"Barca president Sandro Rosell said on Sunday night that the deal would be worth a guaranteed €29 million with a further €10 million to be paid depending on clauses being met."

Hopefully the clause is "makes one appearance for the club".

Galatasaray have opened talks with Eboue, so his departure from Arsenal is imminent.

My guess is...£4 million, which I'd gladly take.

I'm sure many fans would be more than willing to offer him a lift to Turkey. £4 million would be a bonus.

What's the latest on Bendtner? Stoke are interested. Rumours have cooled in Germany by the sounds of it. Are there any strikers linked to you guys now you have a wad of cash? If RVP gets injured you are pretty lightweight up top. Chamakh started last season pretty well, what the heck happened to him? He fell from grace pretty quick.

Pretty sure it's a dream come true for Robbie. I think he's always wanted to play for LA.

He said that when he signed for us and at Celtic, Inter, Coventry, Wolves, West ham, etc.

Boggles the mind that we spent 20 million quid on him only 3 years ago and now he's gone there for 1.8m

You won't have to worry about that too much right now as he'll be riding the bench for the most part.

He'll play, just not every game which is unfair IMO to a player with his skill.

I'm happy this is over but not too happy with the result of it. As I've said, he's a skilled player but not a need in Barca. There are many other needs that could have been taken care of with that money. Oh well, I look forward to seeing how he plays with this squad.

Last I heard, Stoke and someone else in the EPL were bidding over him. Wenger has been quoted as saying Bendtner knows he's leaving, just not where.

There is NO cover for RVP. If Chamakh regained his form from the start of last year, yes. Otherwise, none at all and I bet he'll be playing in a lot of games if he's healthy. One, he's our only sure thing of a striker. Two, new captain and someone we need on the pitch at all times.

He'll play like the rest of them and it'll look like a younger Xavi.

He has Barca DNA, don't cha know!?!

On a more serious note, over the last five years he has more assists than any player in the world. That is mind boggling.

Interesting stat. I'm hoping Pep plugs him in against RM on Wednesday.

A world class player doesnt need to play in every single game.
If Fabregas plays less games, he gets more chances to rest and will perform better.

Every winning team has to have a good squad for rotation and to account for injuries.
Look at Man U, their top players including Rooney, Nani do not play every game.
They need to rest to perform well.

Having said that, the way Barca went about getting Fabregas was really obnoxious...
Arsenal did make a good profit off Fabregas though, just like Man U made a tidy sum off Ronaldo.

A good profit? Are you serious? It's a joke of a profit when you look at what other players go for. You just said yourself he's world class.

As for him not playing in every game, Rooney plays in a lot more games than Cesc will.

Cesc is my favorite player ever but I hope he never wins a trophy at Barcelona. That club makes me sick.
