Looks like Man City are really trying to defend their title. Sky is reporting they are in advanced talks with Swansea over a £30milliondeal for Wilfried Bony. The only downside is he is heading off to the Africa Cup of Nations plus he would not be available to play for City in the CL due to Financial Fair Play(FFP was the reason they had to loan out Negredo)

Re: The Transfer Thread
bony will be gone for the african cup of nations and cant play in the cl for man city. it seems like alot of money considering city's injury problems should be gone by the time he will play for them.
then again the january window is always super expensive if you want to bring someone in, especially a move inside the EPL.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Bad career move imo if he decides to go there. Another Rodwell and Sinclair in the making. Go for the big bucks and hardly feature. The way City usually play is with 1 central striker. If Aguero is fit it will be him.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
He's definitely a great striker, probably underrated by too many people, but I don't understand why City would go in for Bony for that much money.
Once everybody is fit, they will have Aguero, Dzeko, Jovetic and Bony. Not to mention that Pozo dude seems to have a lot of potential.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
With respect to Bony being not able to play in the CL for City. I watched an interview on TV tonight with Sunday Telegraph journalist, Jason Burt. He said That City could get around that problem by dropping someone from the CL squad. They can only have 16 non home grown players which they have already named. One name mentioned that could be sacrificed is Bacary Sagna. Another option is to drop back up keeper Cabellero and bring in Richard Wright who is home grown.Comment
