Even if the CB we sign is Luiz, I'll still be very happy. There are two options for us in terms of signing a CB who can play for us this year: young and talented or very experienced.

Plus, his passing ability from deep will help us. Yes, Arsenal had mental defensive lapses last year, but what was often forgotten was the position our defenders were put in by errors made in midfield or attempting to bring the ball into midfield.

A fit Holding is solid with the ball at his feet, and Luiz is the same plus possesses a great passing range. Add in Ceballos playing deep in midfield and we've already massively helped our defense just by not relying on them as much to clean up mistakes.

Yeah, I want Upamecano, but I wouldn't be disappointed with the above scenario.

I don't think you guys go back in for Upamecano. You'd have to activate his 80M release and I don't think you guys will pay that for him. It also sounds like you might get Luiz for 8M. Which is nuts.

Both of those prices are incredible. The Luiz cost almost entirely comes from moving Koscielny and Jenkinson.
