Re: The Transfer Thread
Even if the transfer is "canceled", I'm sure they'll just do it all again for more money.
Neymar's return will set a whole new level of cluster****ness.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
It really depends on what Nuno does, tactically they kind of fell short against lesser opposition, if he figures out how to attack the teams that are fighting for survival, I surely wouldn't question it as they are a team that has a lot of talent. That being said, I don't know Nuno's history in terms of adaptability, and in the past other managers of non top 6 sides have failed at either beating/drawing Top 6 teams, or straight up beating the bottom of the table. Rainieri was basically the only one who got his change of tactics correct based on opposition for a non top 6 side.Support Local Sports

Re: The Transfer Thread
Top six? Yes, if they're not in the Europa League (currently qualifying).
If they're in the Europa League group stages and take it seriously, they might be severely hampered by Nuno's reluctance to rotate his squad.Comment

The Transfer Thread
Arsenal and Lille have agreed to an £72m deal for Nicolas Pepe.
But, but, Arsenal are a joke when it comes to dealing with transfers, right?! They refuse to pay, right?! Weird things happen when you overturn your back room staff and cut the fat.
He’ll, maybe we’d instead be announcing Zaha if Palace actually wanted to do business.Last edited by Krebstar; 07-27-2019, 06:55 AM.Comment

The Transfer Thread
I just have to go back to this.
The cost of Pepe shows that we’re not haggling in price, but on structure of payments. Celtic have been dragging out the deal by wanting most if not all of the money upfront. Which seems a bit unrealistic.
The deal is there to be made, but they’re the ones dragging it out, not us.
Nah, right now it’s not.Comment

Still haven't figured out why you aren't signing a CB but I haven't been paying attention to any rumors so maybe you guys are.
Just sign Cahill on a free.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
It was too early to call us a mess, I think. Things were in progress.
I think it’s Raul as much as Edu right now, but overall it shows that having more competent people in certain positions is making a huge difference.
I still think we’ll sign a CB—I think Kos leaves and we bring in a replacement.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Is it really "splashing the cash" if Arsenal are paying with installments? Good for them to make the deal workout but I don't think you can blame Palace for not wanting to be paid in installments(if the rumored payment type is true)Current careers:

Re: The Transfer Thread
I'm not blaming Palace, I'm pointing out that the finger would've been pointed at Arsenal for not paying for worth, being cheap, etc. We're willing to do business, and apparently even offered Palace cash + two players.
If anyone is to blame it's Zaha for signing that new deal. My point is that if Palace wanted to do a deal, we could've done a deal. The issue was not Arsenal being poorly run or a joke. (although we are still very poorly run in terms of ownership)Last edited by Krebstar; 07-27-2019, 10:04 AM.Comment

I think the Clyne injury has Palace in a bit of a bind. It would be great if they turned around and hijacked Tierney though lol.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
I don't think you can blame Zaha, he's leveraging the interest into better wages. If he moves to a big club he'll get it but by signing it now he gets the wages he deserves.

Blame is wrong word, even though I’ve used it a few times.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
I wonder if that Jovic knock he picked up vs Atleti is serious enough that they need Bale as striker #2 and a backup winger for Asensio.
Despite that wry smile, he’s played pretty well in the preseason matches I’ve seen.
