    Re: The Transfer Thread

Not moving him in this past Summer for more is my main point. I’m just surprised they waited until January, risking getting nothing.

Half the wages of what Eriksen will get at Inter, right? He was surely not on anything too high at Spurs, as nobody is and he hadn’t renewed his contract for years. I doubt they dumped tons of wages off their books.

Not moving him this past Summer is mostly what perplexed me. No, they couldn’t foresee his form or apathy, but they knew he wanted out.

Deal looks to be done, loan with an option to buy.

Bluster was the correct word. All noise, deal falling through and hysteria over he’s planned return to Brazil nonsense for clicks, etc.

Considering the story broke so late in the process, the night before he flew in for a medical, it always seemed likely to get done, but a fairly smooth deal doesn’t get panic-stricken online Arsenal supporters in a frenzy.

Edit: He's been officially announced—even with a photo. Weird, it's like he came for a medical, did photography with the team, and then flew back to get his personal affairs in order. What a crazy concept—a player returning to their home country after the medical is completed and other details are being finalized. There is an entire (large) community of Arsenal supporters online who have convinced themselves that the club are incapable of signing a player or closing a deal and will hang on the every word of anyone who tweets anything appearing negative—it's maddening.

Everton have turned down an offer of €100m (£85m) from Barcelona for Richarlison.

If they bid again, I would snap their bloody hands off!

Arsenal set to sign Cedric from Southampton on a loan until the end of the season—he's available on a free in the Summer, so if it works out and he provides solid cover at RB I could see it becoming permanent.

What the hell? Do they expect everyone else to wildly overpay as much as they do?

The bluster came directly from Flamengo's front office though. They were really trying to get that money up front, lol.

Idk, Richarlson is probably worth close to that in this market. 22, been fairly good for an Everton side that’s a mess and Brazilian.

What I don’t get is where Barca is getting this money from. They’ve been trying to offload guys like Umtiti, Rakitic, Coutinho, Vidal, and a bunch of youngsters just to balance the books.

I dunno, he's pretty inconsistent. I would've taken that in a second. Especially since they're going to have to do yet another "re-load" with Ancelotti now wanting to shape the team to his liking.

He’s 22 though and nearly a goal every other game. Considering who’s providing him service that’s not a bad return at all for a player who just kind of appeared on the scene at Watford.

Plus you sell him now who are you going to bring in to replace him? Zaha? He’s probably a better player but nearly 5/6 yrs older.

Personally I don’t believe the report. No way Barca is paying that much for a guy to sit behind Suarez and Griezman for the next 2 years.

In other news, Danny Rose to Newcastle on loan is done.

Of all the teams to sign Sander Berge, I cannot believe it was Sheffield United.

Cedric Soares to Arsenal in loan until the end of the season is official.

It’s being met with lots of jokes, but I love it. Actual depth at RB is not something we’ve had recently, at all.
