Apparently Barca have approached Chelsea for Torres in the neighborhood of ~20mil. SomehowI think somebody over on Madrid hacked Barca's phone system.

mata
hazard
lampard
oscar
ramires
obi mikel
moses
marin
de bruyne
essien (coming back from loan)
mceachran (coming back from loan)
and now schurrle
plus, they're linked to van ginkel and sneijder!
i know some will be sold and some play different position along the midfield, but damn that's a lot of midfielders.
someone's bound to get mad about playing time.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
From a few things I've heard and read just lately it appears that Mikel & Moses could be shown the door as Mourinho does not see a future for them.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
i've only heard one thing about moses and that was him reuniting with martinez at everton.
i'm guessing marin will also be gone and mceachran will go out on loan again.
that still leaves mata, hazard, oscar, ramires, and now schurrle for first team football.
mourinho said a day or two ago that de bruyne fits into chelsea's plans next year and he wants first team football.
if mikel is sold, they will have a hole at DM. unless mourinho thinks essien has enough left in the tank for a year or so as a stopgapComment

yeah, i heard about mikel. i'm sure he's on the way out and chelsea fans would rejoice.

Re: The Transfer Thread
On the Sky Sports ticker:
La Liga champions Barcelona are getting ready to splash the cash on Fernando Torres, Graham Hunter told Sky Sports News. It was reported on Thursday that the Spanish giants were set to offer £17m to Chelsea - £33m less than the British record transfer fee that Liverpool received two years ago from the London club. "It is a well-sourced story," said the Spain-based journalist.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
i'm friends with a couple chelsea fans and they say chelsea really needs a central defender, defensive midfielder, and probably another striker. none of which they have gone after yet, but it is very very early in the offseasonComment

Re: The Transfer Thread
i wouldn't call it blowing out of proportion. just they have a ton of midfielders and looking to sign more when they have other areas to address.

Re: The Transfer Thread
I think Moses will be kept. He makes relatively low wages.

you're also forgetting their latest edition of schurrle. plus, they are also rumored with van ginkel and sneijder.
all i'm saying is that it's a lot of midfielders and it's not out of the realm that someone will be unhappy with playing time. but apparently i'm blowing it out of proportion.Comment
