I dunno, they've got some great talent which makes it hard for me to hate them truly. Having someone other than Ba/Eto'o/Torres up front excites me for their playstyle, I wonder just how many they'll put in the back of the net. I wonder if they sell Lukaku though. Can't see him being on another year long loan, do they sell him?

Eh, I'm sure it'll be just another year of Mourinho talking down expectations, and the team finishing 3rd or 4th. I enjoy the comedy aspect of it.

Jose already said that if things go according to plan in the summer transfer window that Chelsea is challenging for the title from day one.

Considering this was the first time since 2002 that Jose has finished outside the top 2 with any of his teams, there's probably a decent chance we do better next season

Word. I'm pumped for next season. I see Chelsea taking the league with City in second and Liverpool/Arsenal in third. I just hope that Costa fits well with the team. We all know what happened last time Chelsea bought a great striker...

We also know what happened last time Jose picked himself a striker.

Will never happen, we love Jose too much, he did get away with letting Mata go after all. I don't see Courtois going back out on loan, he'll be defending our goal next season.

EDIT: And a google search brings a result from August that says his release Clause was near £50m. So basically me thinks Courtois goes back on loan
There's talk of Lukaku being a part of the deal.

                    Re: The Transfer Thread

I doubt that unless Jose is planning on buying two strikers. If the Luiz to Barca rumor is true then there is no need to swap Lukaku for Costa as the Luiz money pays for the deal. Lukaku is definitely good enough to be our second striker and would see a lot of game time, the only variable I think would be whether or not he wants to be second striker.

Financially it doesn't make sense to get rid of Lukaku, buying two quality strikers in the same window is very expensive and the club has worked hard to stay FFP compliant.

The point is, if the deal is for £32m, then there is a player being moved to Madrid, whether it be Lukaku or Courtois. Zero chance the price tag is that low without it

every place that I've read Mo says his buyout clause is only 32 mil. I think Courtoius comes back and competes with Cech in the preseason. The loser either gets shipped out in the summer or waits until Jan.

                          $83m is about £50m

2 things from this. When it comes to spain, I'll always go with the higher number. And when it comes to Spain rarely does anyone know what the actual release clause is.

Long confusing story short, I'll stick with my initial assessment that there's another player going back in the deal

I haven't seen any sites report that his buyout clause is still 50 mil. The key word in your link was "reportedly"

If there is an actual 2nd player in the deal, could be Torres?

Yeah pretty sure he was rumoured to be in a trade deal. This states the clause is 38 million euros which is £32 million. http://www.transfermarketweb.com/?ac...d&idsel=138266.
I do however believe Chelsea is going to trade someone though although it shall not be Courtois.
