    They can't compete with the Man U's and Chelsea's with financial muscle alone. They need to use guile and tact when signing players. I understand your frustrations, but the chance of Arsenal signing a big name player like Xabi Alonso strikes me as small. It is more fun to root for guys who grow up with the club anyway, rather than mercenaries like Michael Ballack or Carlos Tevez.

        8.15 Sunderland boss Roy Keane has hit out at Stoke over their treatment of Marton Fulop after they pulled out of a move for the Hungarian.

                  Arshavin is said to be almost certain at this point, and Spurs are also reportedly in talks for Roman Pavluychenko....a double Russian swoop?

                                Hopefully the operative word here is striker (though given Eduardo's injury and RVP being extremely injury prone, I don't know why Wenger would say that) and Wenger is still looking for another midfielder or defender (to replace Gilberto).
