After a decent preseason, the Edmonton Oilers decided it was time to invest in a new Goalie. They called up Phoenix, and proposed moving Khabibulin for Mike Smith. With in 15 minutes, they agree'd to a deal, sending Khabibulin and two 2nd round 2013 picks (Edmontons and Anaheims) to Phoenix for Mike Smith and Boyd Gordon. Mike smith starts his career with the Oilers on October 9th 2011 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Recap
This is not the way Mike Smith planned his debut for the Oilers. After taking 36 shots and letting in 3 goals, Smith said he is going to prepare harder for next game. Edmonton held off Crosby for the 1st period, but Crosby went into the dressing room at intermission and came out a whole new man. Cam Barker scored the lone goal for Edmonton, feeding off a pass from Gagner and slapping it top shelf from the blueline for a short handed goal.

Recap
Edmonton came into this game planning to give Minnesota their 1st loss of the season. Things started going down hill after Nick Shultz got thrown out of the game in the 1st couple minutes of the first period. Belanger tipped it in his own net to help the Wild score their 4th goal. Mike Smith -again pissed- said he will not start the next game, and wants to rest.

Recap
With Mike Smith's hissy-fit, the Oilers started Dubnyk. He was amazing, and got us our 1st point. Sutton got caught off guard, while Daniel Sedin shot the puck right to the top shelf in Overtime. Dubnyk will most likely play next game

Recap
Gagner had a goal in the 1st period which bounced off a Nashville player. This was also a short handed goal! This was a big win for Dubnyk, handing Nashville its 1st loss of the series, and Edmonton's 1st win.
This one went all the way to Shootout. Paajarvi has been doing horrible, and still hasn't learnt after the one game he was benched, and minimum playing time. He has still yet to prove himself.
