Season Preview Coming...for now I'll tell you that I play every game, no simming, and on Superstar Difficulty...and if I start a chise, I usually finish it.

Stacked: The St. Louis Blues Favored As Cup Contenders

Vladimir Tarasenko showed flashes of brilliance early in his rookie season, collecting 10 points on 5 goals in his first 8 games. After a concussion, his confidence never returned to its early season form. Will Tarasenko break out in his sophomore season?

In a salary dump trade, the Blues acquired Magnus Paajarvi from the Edmonton Oilers. Paajarvi may well be a hidden gem as he and Patrick Berglund have previous history of chemistry between them.

Primed For Success

The Blues have locked up Alex Pietrangelo and Jay Bouwmeester for 8 and 5 years respectively. Now add Kevin Shattenkirk, Barrett Jackman, Roman Polak, and Jordan Leopold to that group and you get the envy of the NHL.

If newcomer Derrick Roy can regain his pre-injury storm form, the St. Louis Blues may be the class of the NHL from the drop of the puck. They may possess the most depth in the league from line to line.

The St. Louis Blues Forecasted Lineup

Steen-Backes-Oshie
Stewart-Roy-Tarasenko
Schwartz-Berglund-Paajarvi
Sobotka-Lapierre-Reaves

Pietrangelo-Bouwmeester
Shattenkirk-Jackman
Polak-Leopold

Halak
Elliott

Blues Ink Morrow To Bargain Deal

Two years removed from a 33 goal season in Dallas, Brendan Morrow signed a one year deal with the Blues at 1.5 million USD.

If one thing is for certain in St. Louis, the Blues and their ownership along with the leading of GM Doug Armstrong, have set their sights on hockeys most revered prize.

The Blues, who already boasted extreme depth, added former Stars captain Brendan Morrow to the fold last night solidifying their lineup heading into the regular season.

"We were talking to Brendan all summer long and he had a very short list of teams he was willing to talk to. Luckily, we were on the list, " said Doug Armstrong who along with head coach Ken Hitchcock, have former ties to the former Dallas Star.

"It just made sense. The Blues have been knocking on the door and I want to be part of the process. I think this is a team that is going to do something special", said Morrow of his new club.

"Watch out, he is a wounded animal. He is a victim of the salary cap this summer and is playing for far less money than he deserves. That motivation should serve us well. He had 14 points in 15 games for the Penguins last season and 33 goals a few years ago. He still has something left", said Armstrong at the presser.

The Blues Forcasted Season Lineup Has Changed With the Signing

Sobotka-Lapierre-Morrow

Pietrangelo-Bouwmeester
Shattenkirk-Jackman

Its a real life move so I take no credit there...that's our actual lineup. In fact, Paajarvi in real life will probably be a healthy scratch on Thursday night. Anyhow, this is on temporary delay as I am trying to solve some penalty issues...may even need to play this in Season Mode where I seemed to get more PP's.

I know.. But it was still a great move.

I am finding the same issue in my Oilers Dynasty. And though this doesn't fix my power play, I purposely get penalties so that I can kill them. :-)

Potential Stanley Cup contender right there.

Of course, until Derek Roy makes you pull your hair out.
